Just finished watching Foxcatcher. Felt uncomfortable the entire time watching it. Felt the same type of embarrassment that I feel for a couple of individuals on this message board. But then I really thought about the absurdity of it all. Shook my head & just chuckled. It's strange the warmness & relief that one has after watching such a film. You just thank God that you are you. There's another movie that comes to mind as well. A movie called "Naked" starring David Thewlis. Directed by Mike Leigh.

I'll check into them...here's one for you, an older "coming of age" foreign film you might have missed..."My Life as a Dog"...late-80s, Swedish film...set in late50s/early60s...and it refers peripherally to the Ingemmar Johannsen vs. Floyd Patterson battles as they'd be radio-cast back in the day...wonderful in many ways and one to watch with the whole fam--the opening subtitles of the kid's waxing philosophic about the "things he worries about" and his many usually-unsuccessful attempts to cheer up his chronically-depressed mother will stay with you for life.
