Thanks bros. I was mostly just happy that the Souza decision went my way. I really, really thought he deserved it, clearly, and after all the close decisions that have gone against me recently, it'd probably have annoyed me a bit if I had lost that, too.

Did you really think he deserved that decision? Can't say i honestly agree. Glad it hit for you but I had Arantes winning by a very slim margin. Either way fight was a complete toss up.

I thought that he clearly deserved it. I gave him all three rounds, with one of them being a toss up, and the other two going pretty clearly to Souza in my opinion.

I had it 29-28 Arantes. Arantes took rnd 1 & 3. Both close but i think he did enough. Round three was the more questionable. Unfortunately him getting hurt in the third i think cost him the nod. If professional judges can't get the job right half the time, who expects us to right? lol

I don't even know, to be honest. Chances of Carmont getting a decision he doesn't deserve, chances of Phillipou faltering against a good kicker, and chances of Carmont being able to get the takedown all worry me, especially since he's a Tri-Star fighter. Need to watch more tape before I know if I want to add more on Philippou.

he claims he just wanted a change and he was doing most of his sparring at Bellmore any way so decided to move their permanently. The two camps have a relationship anyway...Villante trains mostly at Bellmore but because he's Weidman's homeboi they cross-train

yeah that's why I said "he claims". Helwani asked him that straight and he said he is nowhere near a title shot so has nothing to do with it. I'd lean towards thinking that it's probaby more to do with the amount of time he was getting with Serra and Longo compared to what Weidman was getting

That's a good point. I never would have thought of that. If Longo and Serra can keep him champion they will make some serious bank with their gym. That's the best possible advertising you can get. As far as Costa being far away from a title shot, I don't know. He has five wins in a row right now. If he can get two more over decent opponents I could definitely see him in the mix. Beating Francis Carmont isn't going to get him a title shot but it could definitely put him in the mix for a title eliminator. He would need to fight a ranked opponent, preferably one without very good wrestling because we saw what Tim Boetsche did to him.
