As always, thanks for putting in work, LTA.Comment -

#7147Angels bats are heating up, if the best hitter in the game returns to form then the Angels will have a top 5ish offense. That's a far cry from the form they've been showing where I would rank their offense somewhere in the bottom third of the league. The key factor of course is Pujols OPSing at .500 compared to ~1.000 batting in the most critical hole in the lineup.Comment -

#7148There is no doubt Albert will return to top form, the question is when. I did not think it would be today. Perhaps there is some inside info about Sale that indicates a possible short outting today because of the injury. As of today, the numbers show that angels are not a great offensive team and that's what I have to go on. Perhaps I erred in trusting Sale in this game. It's certainly not a good long term play. I think I may need to start limiting my plays for awhile because variance is really kicking my tail right now. I wonder if there's any stat regarding these noon games. Traditionally lower/higher scoring? No relevance whatsoever?Comment -

#7153For sure. However, last year's inter-league play was dominated by unders as the unfamiliarity between pitcher and hitter controlled.Originally posted by RedscotBullpens seem to be at an all time low in dependability. #7161Wow...a very rare event. Those who got down late won the under and those who bet last night and this morning pushed.
Normally it has been the other way.
Couldn't CWS have been happy with a 5-1 win?
CWS a winner tho.
Congrats LTA and all.

#7164Damn, that was a tough break pushing on the Chi Sox game, but the way we are running it's better than a loss. LTA, we are due to break out any day with that huge 5-0 card you mentioned. You have any leans on the later games? Maybe LA/SD under. You see any value in Philly -1 RL?Comment -

#7165http://www.toddstake.com/2012/05/17/...ace-like-home/
A superior sports handicapping book for nerds is "Scorecasting: The hidden influences behind how sports are played and games are won" by Moskowitz and Wertheim.
In that book the authors make the case effectively that baseball has the least home field advantage of all major sports...around 53% or so (by memory). However, this is not to say that some pitchers are not highly affected by home versus away fields.
This link is to a great piece about a dozen or so pitchers that are very affected by home and away fields and have been for many years in most cases. Great article. He calls this the "Wandy Rodriguez Complex". Most of you can figure out the tone of the article from there.
I hope you enjoy and profit.Comment -

#7174MLB 2012 Regular Season 5/17/2012 Recap
1 - 3 - 1 = -1.51x
MLB 2012 Regular Season
88 - 86 - 12 = -0.63x
This is the first time I have been in the red in MLB at any point since I decided to do this full time two seasons ago. Strangely, I am at peace with this cold streak. Not even frustrated. Instead, I am excited to get to tomorrow's game to start the turn around. I will stay aggressive and stick to my process. Last year, I hit a hot streak during inter-league. I expect the same this season. Good luck.Comment -
