It would be most helpful if you expressed records with units. Perhaps I'd this was a -110 game that would make sense. Games involving moneylines in MLB need to be expresses in units. You do everyone a disservice by expressing records. The contrarian philosophy yields profits from at least 43% winners.
Right now we are running in the 60's%.

Nice call with the Brewers, 5's. Great value at +145 with Randy Wolf vs a fundamentally unsound Astros club.
I've had Wolf for 5 inn, 9 inn and RL in each of his starts. Again today he was the master craftsman working both sides of the plate, changing speeds and keeping the ball down. After a tough start to their season, the Brewers are starting to show something. Plus they should have both Greinke and Cory Hart back very soon. Still believe they're the team to beat in the NL Central.
Interestingly - Randy Wolf, Josh Johnson and Brett Anderson of the A's have all been working the same days of late. Last Tuesday their outings returned 3 shutouts. Today the 3 clubs all won again (although JJ didn't get the personal W today). I'd say these are three guys you can trust with your money.Comment -

I have a question here directed towards Fives or thelock .
While looking at the live odds for Tomm.'s games (ML) I see that Oakland with Gio Gonzalez starting (who has looked good so far) had an opening line of of +145 and is currently at +137, yet only 35% of the money is currently on Oakland. Because the line has gotten worse and the public seems to be leaning towards LAA would that make this a nice contrarian pick as of right now?Comment -
I don't put too much credence in the opening numbers as a sole factor to arrive at a contrarian selection. Simple money alone and its distribution is one part of the sum. However, your brain is starting to contrarianize (is that a word). Put it in the glossary.

I personally like the aspect that OAK is becoming a smaller dog than they were @ the opening number. Especially because Weaver has been the epitome of dominant this year.
With that said, as you mentioned, Gio's ERA is really low so that does not work well from a contrarian perspective.
Essentially, if Weaver was pitching vs an OAK pitcher w/ an ERA of 4+ and LAA was only -140ish, OAK would be a contrarian play.Comment -

Everyday I read this forum I learn more and grow wiser of the Contrarian Way. I have the utmost respect for the Contrarian Mafia. To be honest, when I first reading this thread, which I havent read all of it, which is my next assignment to be completed in next day or 2, I had come to the assumption that the Contrarian Way was simply finding a side that was a promising probability of winning with the public heavily favored on the other, boy was I wrong. Little did I know there are so many aspects of the Contrarian Way and so many Contrarian Ideals that factor into every Contrarian play, I respectfully withdrawal my application to the Contrarian Mafia, (for personal growth reasons) without prejudice, if the family willing, and seek to re-instate my Contrarian Application once I research more into the Contrarian Way....starting with reading all 44 pages of this thread. Czar 5's, you say theres a website too? Any information available would be much appreciated, and I understand secrecy is of utmost importance so feel free to message me at any time. Anyways, I forsee great things for the Contrarian Mafia, and believe they will begin to strike fear into the vegas odds makers teams as the Contrarian Mafia will soon be growing larger and making more profits to the point where the books will be outmatched....Long Live the Contrarian Mafia.....
