      CURVEBALL
Uncle Charlie said it's past Memorial Day and right now that I look like a seller come the trade deadline. Chuck told me if I don't get it in gear by the trade deadline, I should pack my shit up until the postseason. So here's to you Uncle Chuck, time to put the pedal to the metal. Diamondbacks and Dodgers tonight in LA. It's Dan Haren day! Where better to start the road back into contention than to follow the runs that stick to Dan Haren starts. 11 of 11 this year have hit at least 8 runs when Haren takes the mound. Countering for LA is the amazingly consistent John Ely. Ely's starts have also been a beacon for runs, mostly his teammates backing him up with an average of 5.8 runs per start. 5 of his 6 starts have hit OVER with all three home starts hitting OVER as well. Uncle Chuck says double up. Total is 8 at +100, going OVER for 2 units.

EP...I like your call for the over in the Doyer game tonight. Ely's definitely going to give up some runs tonight. He's not nearly as good as he's been pitching lately.

Gotta go with this one with the Brewers & Marlins at Sun Life Stadium. It's Bush vs. Nolasco with both starters sporting ERAs in the 7s in their last three starts. Nolasco's four home starts have averaged 10.4 runs this season with 4 of 5 going OVER. 8 runs was the lowest end result in Nolasco's home starts to-date. Bush pitched well against Houston last time out, but has given up at least three runs in 6 of his last 7 starts. 3 of his 4 road starts have gone OVER. Throw in the Napalm that is the Milwaukee bullpen and this one has a chance. Milwaukee's bullpen ERA is 6.22 and they were plenty helpful yesterday in yielding 7 runs in just 2.1 IP. Total is 9 at -110, going OVER.

Uncle Charlie really screwed the pooch here. Hit the small one, boned with a 0-0 shutout in the 8th in the big one. Looks like I'll be trading myself for a seat on the sidelines in July - but not after losing some more money!

                CURVEBALL
Taking the Phillies today at +125. Kendrick has solid career numbers vs. ATL at 4-1 in 7 career starts with a 2.72 ERA. At Turner Field, he's 2-0 in 5 starts with a 2.22 ERA. He shut out the Braves in 8 quality innings back in April, only to have the bullpen blow if for him in a 4-3 loss. Phils have won 4 of his last 5 starts. Derek Lowe goes for the Braves. Philly has beat him up for 11 ER in 10 IP this season. Phils are in total desperation mode to get untracked and really must have this one. Atlanta has been great at home all season, having gone 18-6 and winners of 8 straight at Turner Field. Gotta be a little nuts to win sometimes, right? Nut up.

Was loving Philly, now you've swayed me even more, 2x.

Booked now at +125 after lineups came out. Phils have a little different look today whereas the Braves are pretty much their everyday lineup. Fine by me. Take a little better price and see how it bends.

There's not much to explain here. I'm an avid Astros fan and have grown up my life watching this team. Over the past decade, this team has always displayed one trait more than any other. They absolutely struggle against starters they are facing for the first time ever. J.D. Martin for Washington foots that bill. Martin also has a pretty solid track record. He made his 1st start of 2010 against San Diego, yielding 4 runs but only one was earned in 6 IP. Down the stretch in 2009, he made 15 starts for the Nationals. He was only roughed up in three of those with Washington winning 5 of his 7 road starts. Add in that Brian Moehler for Houston is making another spot start and that he sucks. So Nationals for me at -130.

That finish right there signals the end of me making baseball plays or at least trying to dole out any worthwhile tips. That was seriously the most awesome rollercoaster beatdown ever.
