Do you bet totals.? The Dodgers play a rare day game today and it reminded of a few things I have learned over the years.
#1.) The ball tends to fly out during day games @ Chavez Ravine
#2.) The ball tends to sail out when its hot and humid @ U.S. Cellular - W.SOX
#3.)The ball tends to jump out during day games when the roof in open @ The Rogers Center - B.Jays
Guys this is just a guide line,but its all true. Should you bet evey over when these occur? NO,just something to think about. GL

question. at what point do you think it is too much juice to pay for a fav. anything more than -150, -170?

Win or loose, this is why I find the first 2-3 weeks of baseball the hardest. First of all there are no trends to follow, second you can bet a pitcher(Bannister) he does what you think he will do but cannot go the distance because its early in the season. So then you get to the bullpen early and that is that.! GL

I think it was a solid play regardless of the outcome. My question is, whey you see a situation where the starter clearly has an advantage and the bullpen is weak, why not take the first five? And I'm no expert, but this seems to be a wise play at times.

Terp, before I saw your thread, I played Detroit on a chase starting with game 2. Sorry for your loss. Sucks big time bc you deserved it. Having said that, I played the ML to win x and risked x on the RL so it came out in a wash. You or someone I believe recently said RL's were hitting at a high clip so this is my strategy, for whatever it's worth. And I know you are wise and don't play heavy favorites, but this could be used for some of your strong plays.

PITT/S.F. -OVER 8.5 -110 Morton vs. Sanchez- Wind blowin out to center @ 10 mph. Sanchez has a GO/AO (career) of 0.93, Morton has a GO/AO of 1.34 Look for a lot of fly balls and a few home runs. I do lean to Pitt. in this game, but need to do more cappin. GL

Hey Terp I came up with Cardinals -1.5, and White Sox ml tonight. Curious if you had either of those capped and your thoughts?

tony0387 I cant give you an complete run down for the first 10 years or so I was young and did not keep good records. I did not bet at much while my kids were growning up. You know talk is cheap so I dont know what to say but I WOULD SAY in baseball over the last 8 years had one loosing season. You may not belive it the way I have been going this year. FOR me the first 2-3 weeks are the hardest to cap.For many reasons as you see I do alot of work and know a little bit. As for # I would be disapointed if I wasnt up 150 units when its all said and done. Time will tell,also I am very conserative(no 10 unit plays or crazy bets) I power weight my games 1 - 5 units and its rare if I have 3, 5 unit plays in one month.!! I hope this helps and you have learned form my post.
