Good luck Mr. Streaker, you are building a nice record. You should start providing a unit count, instead of money count. How much money you are making is nothing helpful to others, but the success of your selections, as demonstrated by the unit count, is most helpful. Please consider.

Sirra, I want to go with the method you describe in the first post of the thread:

"For example, if selecting the favorite at -160, it will be risking 1.60 units to win 1.0 units. Conversely a selection on a +160, I will be risking 1.0 units to win 1.6 units."

I believe this is the way to go, because you can be 20-20 and still down a lot of money because you have just hit the favourites among your picks. That's why I started including the dollar sum total, and I was playing with the thought of displaying a to-date average of the MLs that had won. However, it didn't take long for me to realize the "true blue count" is the best (good MM too, and real transparent), but should I start my record over again, then? Because, as you know I've almost exclusively played 50$ wagers, but at the start I played some "to win 100" wagers.

I am definitely making the switch, though, just needed the kick in the behind...I can be like that

The unit provides the following insight. "If I tailed this guy betting X amount, I would be making or losing X. It is that simple. I am glad you are considering a change.

The total contrarian play does not hold up, proving the contrarian angle sometimes loses.

Strap in boys, more is coming.

LAA takes it in the under. 2-0, and Orioles pending for me. You know what I heard'em say? "The O's", I heard'em say, "that team is never gonna win a game" .

                    The Contrarians crank out another.

This completes the first half of the CDDP.

                            Selection

Good morning to all. We have a few selections that we will get in early due to family obligations.

We start off with the "game that can't go under", CIN/PIT. The square indicators of combined ERA 9.59 and the over bias relating to team totals record, squarely (no pun intended) put this game in the blowout over camp. Today we come in and punch the under handily.

                            Under Pirates 7.5 +115

The apes will be punching Zito tickets at a great plus price, but the Contrarians won't take the bait. We go the other way and lay the bananas.

                            Dodgers -159

And finally, the Petitte game last time was a stone cold under play that blew up in the ninth inning. Squares will be remembering that game and will punch the under in disappoint. Throw in the premium -115 on the Over to clinch the contrarian angle.

                            Over Yankees 9 -115

I have placed 50$ wagers on all my plays, except on opening night where I bet to win 100 at -116. If I had put 50 there too, I have to subtract 57 from the dollar total, and to date would be up 212 with 50$ on all plays. 212/50 gives a unit record of

+4.24 units. If you bet x with me on all my plays, you would be up 4.24x.

If this is an acceptable convertion, we can go from there.

I have made my own thread for parlays, "two-team parlay factory" (+ 0.80 units after day 1, which was yesterday). I will keep my parlays there, as you guys are game-pickers par excellence in here and probably not interested in which parlays I put down.

I don't mind you posting parlays or anything for that matter. I can tell you that parlays are a tough business to be in. I occasionally make a stab at a parlay but I make it a point to stay away. I can tell you that positive unit count and positive cash flow is challenging by itself. Parlays make it more difficult. But don't let me discourage you. Give it a go, and let's see. Again, feel free to post here, any input within the bounds of good taste are acceptable.

                                    M. Garza has an eye-popping ERA that may impress a lot of novices, but that's two starts against Bmore we're talking about, if the line keeps moving...

Arroyo and Maholm might well keep it under 8 I'm thinking, too...

Luvin that signature? Pretty cool? I agree on the Boston contrarian angle. Was going to pull the trigger, but I want to wait. Red Sox are getting the majority of the money which is not always the best. When selecting contrarian angles there are a number of factors. When I run into an angle that in non-contrarian, even though others are present, I move on to another selection.

That's the BoSox chase money for sure, right. 61% and no line movement. Maybe you are right to be apprehensive Sir.

I like the CWS over, Carmona will throw for strikes, CWS will make contact and their ridiculous babip corrects. Indians contribute a couple too so I see that one going over 7.5.

                                          Booked:

                                          CWS OVER 7.5 -116

This is the first play on the unit count.
Old count stopped at 21-17 and +269$.
From here on I will bet 1 unit on + lines and to win 1 unit on - lines (f example 1.6 units on a -160 and 1.0 units on a + 124).

is this a parlay or straight, you need to establish. If you don't, people wil consider it a straight bet. Be careful of unintended huckstering, if that's a word.

These are straight bets. Parlays in the factory. As stated. Will always say explicitly when it's a parlay.
