Yes I get it. The thing is that from what I see as a fantasy league streamer testing the waters for traditional sides/totals betting it is hard to gauge the unthinkable and inexplicable components that go into a team losing or winning such as the bullpen blowing a lead, a managerial decision. or an umpire with dinner reservations or nothing planned for the evening, untimely errors or an arm that just doesn't have it that day.
In my observation something like the proposed ball and strike challenge capability can only help this system. Apparently it is built upon the premise of taking the guess work and intense research of the individual players out of the mix-and based wholly upon probability of a favorite winning. It seems simple-but the addition of players being able to challenge balls and strikes ill springboard this system and make it much more profitable because just that much more of human error/element will be taken out of the equation. Hell we may be witnessing the end of managers and umpires arguing altogether.
Welp... the amounts risked can always use the eradication of foolishness for this system to work full bore. maybe the 2 weeks of getting blasted will go away. I find that I win 3 out of 7 days with pairing my fantasy studs up against the traditional method of betting MLB. When I do win I win a good amount of crumbs and when I lose I hold serve and lose a few points-which is expected.
It appears that someone following this system should have a healthy bankroll to start off to ride through the volatility and cash out frequently while the goings good. The error of most bettors who make moves online is that they don't cash out when things are good and then lower their bet sizes and rebuild. They average joe leaves their money in the online book long enough to lose it all instead of claiming the minor and sometimes major victories. I roll with Hard Rock and our backroom fantasy league. People give up following because bet sizes get as big as 20 units. And if you look at 2022 system was like -600 units at one point and multiple 30 unit+ bet sizes going on. One bad season can wipe out a decade of profit. Which is why how the labby is ran needs to be changed to a less volatile method next season and probably should implement a stop loss or a 10 unit bet size cap. The system will still be profitable, but its sad to see a bad two week run wipe out a season of profit. Mostly due to greed I think. That is just the way the system was back tested though, so its hard to change the strategy without doing another back test.Leave a comment:
