We regret to inform everyone that our Betpoints Loyalty Program (including SBR Pro) will come to an end effective September 5th, 2024.


Why We Are Ending the Program

After careful consideration, we have decided to end the Betpoints Loyalty Program so that we can proceed with much-needed upgrades to the SBR community forum platform.

As you are aware, we have experienced intermittent technical issues with Betpoints and the forum over the past several months, most recently during the August 17/18 weekend. Unfortunately, in order to properly address this long-term, retiring the Betpoints service is the first step towards proceeding with a platform upgrade.

While we understand that some of you may be disappointed by the news, this closing is part of our efforts to enhance our community offerings and introduce new and improved ways to engage our loyal community members. We believe this change will allow us to serve you better in the long run.

For our loyal SBR members, we are pleased to announce the details of our (3) exclusive contests for football season:


SBR $12K NFL Leaderboard Challenge

Who is eligible?

All active SBR Pro members as of August 19th and any non-pros with 30+ forum posts in the last 365 days.

How do I enter?

Eligible members will receive a PM on Tuesday, August 27th with the link to the contest lobby.

Contest Details:

Make 5 NFL point spread picks per week for the full NFL regular season. 1 point awarded for each correct pick. Leaderboard is based on total points for the season.

Prize Pool:

Overall Prizes at the end of the season:

1st: $3,000

2nd: $2,000

3rd: $1,000

4th: $750

5th: $500

6th: $400

7th: $300

8th: $200

9th: $150

10th: $100

11th – 15th: $75

16th – 20th: $50

21st- 25th: $25


Quarterly Prizes:

Weeks 1-5 Winner: $500

Weeks 6-9 Winner: $500

Weeks 10-13 Winner: $500

Weeks 14-18 Winner: 500


Weekly Prizes:

Any player who gets all 5 of their picks correct during any week will win entry into a private contest at the end of each quarter of the season. These private games will feature a $250 cash prize.

SBR $5K NFL Survivor Contest

Who is eligible?

All active SBR Pro members as of August 19th are eligible.

How do I enter?

Eligible members will receive a PM on Tuesday, August 27th with an invite to the contest lobby.

Contest Details:

Pick 1 team to win each week of the NFL season. Once you pick a team, you cannot use that team again. If your pick ends in a loss or tie you are eliminated from the contest. Last player left standing wins the grand prize.

If multiple remaining players are eliminated in the same week, then the prize will be split among those who advanced the furthest. If multiple players go the entire season without losing, then they will split the prize.

Prize Pool:

$5,000 cash prize to the winner. If there are multiple winners (outlined above), then the prize will be split.

Additional Details:

By entering the SBR Survivor Contest, you will also be entered into the SBR $5K Prize Draw exclusive to active SBR Pros. More details below.

Who is Eligible?

All active SBR Pro members as of August 19th are eligible.

How do I enter?

Entering the SBR NFL Survivor Contest will enter you into the giveaway draw. Invites will go out to eligible members via PM on Tuesday, August 27th.

How many ballots do I get?

Members with higher Betpoints balances will be awarded additional ballots (for every 10k in Betpoints, an extra ballot will be added up to a maximum of 10 ballots).

What are the prizes?

10 x $250 Amazon Gift Cards

10 x $100 Amazon Gift Cards

10 x $75 Amazon Gift Cards

10 x $50 Amazon Gift Cards

10 x $25 Amazon Gift Cards

When will the draws take place?

We will draw for 1 of each gift card denomination every week for the first 10 weeks of the NFL season.

Can I win multiple times?

Once your name is drawn, your ballots will be removed from the draw.

Betpoints Closure FAQs


Why is the Betpoints program closing?

In order to proceed with much needed forum platform upgrades, we are no longer able to support the Betpoints program and its current integrations. This was a careful and difficult decision to come to. However, since the sunsetting of legacy products tied to Betpoints, the program has been unable to operate at its full capacity.


When will the forum be upgraded?

We are targeting 2025 to upgrade the forum platform. Stay tuned for more details regarding this timeline.


When will Betpoints be turned off?

Betpoints will no longer be awarded for daily login as of August 19th. They will be removed from the site on September 5th.


What happens to SBR Pro membership?

New SBR applications will no longer be accepted as of August 19th. Existing SBR Pro memberships will be deactivated on September 5th.


Who is eligible to enter the exclusive contests?

All active SBR Pro members as of August 19th are eligible to enter the SBR NFL Survivor Contest and SBR NFL Leaderboard Challenge.


What if I have a Betpoints balance but am not a Pro member?

All non-Pro members who have made 30+ forum posts in the last 365 days will be eligible to enter the SBR NFL Leaderboard Challenge.


How do I enter the contests?

Eligible members will receive an invite link to the contest lobby via PM on Tuesday, August 27th.


Who is eligible for the SBR Prize Draw?

All active SBR Pro members as of August 19th are eligible for the draw.


How do I enter the draw?

Do I get more entries into the draw based on my Betpoints balance?

Yes, additional ballots will be added to Pro members’ entries based on their Betpoints balance as of August 19th (for every 10k in Betpoints, an extra ballot will be added up to a maximum of 10 ballots).

I was talking about the drawings. I agree that those who held points hoping they would be worth what they once where should get something but those of us that have used points to enter all these contests for the past few years have spend 10s of thousands of points by being a part of the forum. So just my two cents.

But SBR has been the best of the 3 or 4 forum's I've joined in the past 10+ years. SBR has been the easiest to navigate with some leniency. The political forum did get ugly and had to be disbanded. JMO. People, including myself at time should have been kicked out. But we were alway's allowed back.
