I see this quite a bit in closing lines; I have accounts at TopBet, BetDSI, Bovada and BetOnline and see pretty large differences in closing (not opening) lines all the time.

I always assumed the differences were in the amount of money they were taking for each team and adjusting the line accordingly throughout the day as new bets were made.

I have looked for arbitrage opportunities based on the closing lines but have never found enough variance to make it worthwhile unless I had the ability to bet a million or so...lol. Usually 5 - 10 cents is the arb opportunity.
