Nice call. Word of warning though - be careful betting that ATL's bullpen will continue to be as bad as they have been early. I keep a keen eye on my Brave's and I can see that bullpen rounding into shape. Moylan is getting himself straightened out and when he is right he is an absolute nightmare for righties. He's rushed himself back from TJ surgery and it's taken a little bit to knock the rust off. Soriano has been lights out lately and Gonzo.... he was hitting 95 on the gun the other night vs the Cards. He came in with a 1 run lead and struck out the side including Pujols. If that guy has his velocity back in the mid-90's, watch out. All 3 of these guys had season ending sugery last season, and all 3 are just now getting back to their previous status of excellent back end relievers.

Hi Jellobiafra: I will fade them for now, especially on the road, but you are correct about Soriano and Gonzelez. Their middle relief corps in my opinion is one of the worst in the majors, but they can prove me wrong quite easily.

Sundays Selections

Washington+117.....live home dog here, got the staff ace, at home, against a team whose bats are due to cool off a bit with a bit of an uneven record on the other side. Fading Lohse here, I dont think he is as good as his numbers indicate against the Nats, and I think the Nats have turned a corner this year and have a bit more confidence. I will take a pitcher like Lannan anyday at +117, especially a guy who has 1 earned run in 13 innings at home this year.

Arizona/Milwaukee o9 +103.....Arizona has had alot of trouble hitting this year, and IMHO Dave Bush is the perfect remedy for a struggling hitter. He has been knocked around so far this year at home and some of the Backs hitters really are due for big games. On the other side we have Yusmiero Petit who has 12 ER in 4.2 innings of work this year, including 3 homers. I smell an over here today, especially since I look at these two lineups and see alot of players who have struggled a bit who really shouldnt. Lots of runs here today.

New York Yankees-1.5 +136........I know the Yanks have struggled a bit against lefties this season but I have checked out Saunders and decided he is a bit of a paper tiger. Sure, his numbers look good, but if you look at his history he seems to struggle a bit against teams that can hit, like Detroit, Boston and yes, the Yankees. Suffice to say the guys WHIP is 1.7 career vs the Yanks, that isnt going to help much in this launching pad. Alot of Saunders good historical numbers come against weak hitting teams like Oakland and Seattle.
Hughes looked awesome his last time out against Detroit, allowing 4 baserunners in 6 innings in his first start, and I think he turned a corner and I am going to try riding him again today on the RL. Hope the Yanks get to Saunders early and then feast on the Angels struggling bullpen.

Kansas City/Minnesota u8.5 +105....Meche and Baker are two pretty solid pitchers, Baker has struggled mightily this year but he was up against some teams that were really rolling like Toronto and Boston, so I feel these bad numbers are a big inflated. Meche has been solid this year and very good on the road. First two games of the series went over, which goes against the 23/36 under trend, I think one or both of these guys has a solid day and I see a 4-3 type ballgame.

Seattle-1.5 +168....basically here I am going to play the Seattle vs left handed starters trend in which they have averaged 5.6 runs per game, about 1 run over their average on the season with 40 points higher on their batting average. Outman should be in AAA IMHO, his stuff isn't that great and he has really been knocked around in his relief appearances this year. Jakabauskas was really solid in his last start against the White Sox, going 8 innings and allowing 2 runs, most of his bad numbers coming from a really bad loss against Tampa.
I like Seattle in a low scoring affair here, 5-3 or 4-2 type of game.


Really wanted to pull the trigger on San Diego at the big money today but I will lay off. Will proceed to kick my own ass if they actually stop the Dodgers home winning streak today.

Yeah looks like a split on the afternoon lost a fraction. I like the two night plays I think Pettite holds Tampa in check and the Yanks get atleast 3 or 4 off Niemann.
Really love the Buehrle/Galarrage game to be a classic pitching matchup, both teams are a little hobbly and I am also hoping some regulars get a rest tonight and we see a 4-2 type game.

Just an FYI..Votto and Phillips out tonight for the Reds with the flu and Gonzales is hurt so they only have a 22 man roster for this evening. Might not even play the game with the weather threatening to postpone.
