I haven't been doing so hot in MLB so I took a break. Been watching some of the NL games and boy SF and Colorado both are blowing their chances at clinching the wildcard spot. For the time being I've been looking at some stats and trends then making some selections and see how they fare before placing any more bets.

$KARMA$, By far, imho, your best post I've ever read here as you've just proved "you get it" Far as I know Foghorn has shut down M.L.B. and may have called it a season. Between his work and other projects he's involved in I'm stunned and grateful for how much time he was able to put in here. Same for therber2 but I guess he didn't get the sarcasm in the post I made to him. Then there was Bama, was here for a while, then split. Plus the folks who joined recently, the thread is loaded with good minds and should be able to put a hurting on any outlet.

There you are! Sounds good, but don't be afraid to post your thoughts...they can only help, because you never know when you may post something everyone else missed. Capping is fun on its own, regardless of actual investing or not. Good luck, R! Any thought on the NYY/BOS tilts?

I'm leaning towards the NYY RL +1.5 -145 because they're coming off a mediocre road trip and have been solid at home. NY is bringing their A lineup to tonight's game as they still are trying to clinch the AL East and home field. Boston on the other hand is trying to clinch the WC and get their rotation set for the playoffs. I'll post a write up in a little bit.

It seems like most people are on those two teams today, for good reason of course. I still haven't decided what to do. So far, I only had LAD ML written down this morning.

Thank you Mr Winters. It's us being who we are. Each person brings something that nobody else does to the thread. This is very typical of any seasonal threads I start. Hopefully you'll follow us to the hockey forum for some fun along the way but if not know, you are more than welcome back for next season's thread.

Good Afternoon TA, Therbs, T-4, Karma, Oda, Vegas, and all you other degenerates. Missed you boys. Start of hockey season and things getting crazy. Took off the last couple of hours today to get some fun in, so here I am. I back-tracked the thread for the last few weeks, and it looks like you've been doing awesome. Gonna post a few plays with comments, but may be a little rusty.

Boston over NYY (1 unit): both teams coming off road trips, but NY came cross country. Lester has done quite well in new stadium. Boston bats hot.

Toronto over Seattle (2 units RL): Halladay going for Cy Young, other than one start Halladay is light out and Fister is struggling and I don't like the juice

TBay/Texas under 9.5 (1 unit): Both teams combined 138-157-10 for O/U. 3 of 4 season games under 9.5

Minn/KC under 5 first 5 (1 unit): both pitchers are hot (so have their hitters), good pitching trumps batting (I hope)

Minn over KC (1 unit): rooting for Detroit, so going with Minnie, plus they've won last 9 of 10

Atlanta over Wash (1u/-1.7): Vazquez unhittable in last 3, Wash lost 5 of Lannan's last 6

Parlay: LAD & LAA (1 unit): L A all the way.........like both pitching matchups

Cinci over Houst (1u/+1.2): Cinci 8-2/Houst 1-9 in last 10, this is just a hunch

SD/Ariz under 9 (1 unit): both pitchers have done well against each other

I'm taking the gravy on the Pinnacle alternate runline on the Yanks -1.5 @ +216.
Boston has a the advantage in the pitching matchup...but a +216 alternate runline on the Yanks at home is a definite rarity this year. They are champs of the BIG inning and it only takes 1. Phillies/Blanton paid off at +220 on Tuesday on the alternate runline. 2 (...gasp...) units.

1 unit on each of the Dodgers (-197) and Phillies (-162) moneyline.

1 unit Rays runline (+144).

No disrespect to he regulars who have been tracking their units from day 1, but I thought I should adhere to the format of TA's thread.

Boston is coming off a game where they scored 10 runs albeit against the KC Royals. Most of the runs were tacked on off of KC's lousy bullpen and fielding errors. Lester is pitching to a 1.29 ERA and 1.00 WHIP going 3-0 over his last 3 starts and has yet to lose to the Yankees. Chamberlain however is heading in the opposite direction posting a 9.00 ERA and 1.70 WHIP going 0-1 over his last 3 starts. He still has something to prove however since he isn't guaranteed a spot in the starting rotation for the postseason. Even though he's on an innings limit and has been shaky lately, today I feel he's going to have a good outing. As far as Lester is concerned, he'll go 6-7 innings and yield no more than 3 runs. Boston's bullpen has looked out of sync too but expect to see Okajima, Bard, or Papelbon which the Yankees don't always hit well. Aceves, Bruney and Hughes are rested for tonight's game in case Chamberlain only goes 4 innings.


Prediction: NYY +1.5 RL | Under 9 | BOS: 4 - NYY: 3

Yeah I didn't get that sarcasm. Just sounded like a shot at me. Glad we're cool... I have not "split." When the time is right I will be back in action. Until then there are other things in my life I want to do. If you want to know, send me an email. I sincerely apologize if it seems as if I have abandoned everything.

I would expect to see the Halos come out in full effect today after finally losing a series to the Yanks. They need to finish of strong to build momentum for the post season. Would feell better about the ml, but hate the price. I may take a shot.
