I said there was value against stl at that price facing any lefty then I bet stl, as chuck Barkley would say turrrible just turrible .. NYY-106.2x... there is only one thing not to love about this gm so i will get that out of the way 1st, clearly nova hasnt started in some time and wasnt all that effective last time he was up in the bigs. obviously kinda a issue and clearly why line is what it is. obviously triple a stats dont mea a whole lot but he was very good in his 3 starts down there going 2-0 with a 2.04 era and 1.075 whip and a 17/4 k/bb ratio in 17.2 innings of work. even while he was struggling his peripherals looked solid, his velocity was still as good as ever, and his k rate was really high. command was really the issue as his walk rate climbed to almost 4 per 9 but it would appear he has taken care of that in the minors.. now the really good, nova has absolutely dominated tampa in his career going 6-1 in 8 starts with a 2.98 era and a whip just north of 1. current rays players have 128 abs vs nova and hit a collective .187 ba with only 4 hrs.. enough about nova lets talk about archer, this kid has serious control problems avg 6.4 walks per 9! is struggling to get thru 5 innings almost every start, and has horrendous numbers during the day thus far in his young career. adding to archer's control problems porter is calling balls and strikes and this guy has what id consider a rather tight k-zone..sure we taking a little leap of faith in nova coming back strong but we know he is capable, has handled tampa very well, and with the work he has shown he was willing to do in the minors i think this a guy that would like to come out 2marro and earn himself another look...i think this number is a steal when you consider archers control problems, nova's history of dominating this lineup, and fact yanks are 77-36 when playing tb at home over their last 113 meetings.. with porter behind the plate id also lean over but more on point spankees team total over will most likely be a play as well..Comment -
