Betsson player has £309 in winnings taken

A Betsson (SBR rating C+) player has submitted a sportsbook complaint. The player deposited £300 via Skrill in early November 2014. He placed a few wagers before increasing his balance to £609. The player states that his account was then restricted by Betsson. He says that Betsson phoned him and asked if he had traveled recently, as his geo-location changed during the course of his play. The player claims to have answered all questions correctly, but was told that his account was permanently closed and winnings confiscated as a decision by management. Sportsbook Review is investigating the complaint.

VIPSports.eu player claims $2,000 in winnings were confiscated

A VIPSports.eu (SBR rating D-) player has blogged on the Sportsbook Review forum that more than $2,000 in winnings have been confiscated. He claimed that his deposit was refunded but his winnings were not paid. The bulk of his balance was generated by a winning bet on Justin Williams to win the Conn Smythe Trophy — the NHL’s equivalent of the playoffs MVP — and that the wager paid far less than the price offered by online sportsbooks such as Betsson and others. He has claimed that VIPSports.eu labeled him a “professional bettor” and denied his winnings after closing his account. Sportsbook Review followed up with VIPSports.eu and its parent company BTG Global NV; no comment was given on the sportsbook dispute. SBR agreed to post a statement on behalf of the sportsbook if one were provided. The dispute remains open. Sportsbook Review will update this report. The player’s full complaint can be accessed from the article view of this industry news piece. Read More

BetSafe Sportsbook doubles down & justifies theft

BetSafe Sportsbook (SBR rating C-) is standing by their decision to confiscate €22,500 from a winning player. SBR originally reported on the case October 26. At the time, BetSafe support indicated they were unwilling to discuss third party accounts due to privacy rules. Finally, a manager of parent company Betsson unhappy with the report’s publication made contact with SBR.

DafaBet accuses second bettor of syndicate play

DafaBet (unrated) has accused a player of “illegal betting patterns” and confiscated €516 in winnings + bonus money. This is the second report from a DafaBet player in as many weeks. The two unrelated players detail similar events: Their funds were confiscated, a generic note given from customer service, and only their deposited funds left in their accounts.

ToBet Sportsbook confiscates winnings citing syndicate play

ToBet Sportsbook (SBR rating C) is unwilling to revisit their decision to confiscate the winnings of a player they allege was part of a betting syndicate. Unlike one player working with others to circumvent limits or one player having multiple accounts, which is a clear violation of standard terms, these “syndicate” players could simply be friends with legitimate accounts who share the same opinion and are innocent of any wrongdoing. In the past we have seen SBG Global claim that innocent players following a winning local radio tout were guilty of syndicate play. They were cheated out of winnings and were not guilty of any wrongdoing.

Betsson addresses sportsbook complaint

Betsson (SBR rating C+) has addressed the sportsbook complaint reported by SBR in yesterday’s iGaming news video. In this dispute, a player who deposited €150 on April 27th had €1,780 confiscated after the sportsbook alleges the player was not the person controlling the account. The player described to SBR having been randomly interviewed by Betsson via telephone, asked a series of questions and later told that all answers were correct.
