The UFC returns to its home base on Saturday, with two dangerous heavyweights set to clash in a five-round main event. Read on for our UFC picks and parlay predictions ahead of Saturday Derrick Lewis vs. Serghei Spivac card.

A week removed from its annual trip to the Big Apple, the UFC returns to the Apex, where fan favorite Derrick Lewis aims to snap a two-fight skid at the expense of fellow heavyweight Serghei Spivac. A two-time UFC title challenger, the 37-year-old Lewis is in dire need of a win after falling to both Tai Tuivasa and Sergei Pavlovich via strikes earlier this year.

Spivac’s 2022 has been far more successful, as he dispatched both Greg Hardy and Augusto Sakai by TKO and brought his UFC record to a solid 6-3 with four stoppages.

In the bill’s co-main event, Ion Cutelaba meets Kennedy Nzechukwu at light heavyweight. Like Lewis, Cutelaba aims to bounce back from two straight stoppage losses, most recently tapping to Johnny Walker in September. Nzechukwu was last seen scoring a TKO over Karl Roberson in July.

Here are my top parlay picks for Saturday’s Lewis-Spivac event (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook).

UFC Vegas 65: Lewis vs. Spivac Parlay Predictions

Della Maddalena by KO/TKO (-180)

Between his 10 KO/TKO wins in 12 pro victories and a foe who’s fallen to strikes in three of his past five losses, Jack Della Maddalena should be in for another short night of work. The Aussie is a crisp and merciless puncher. Danny Roberts is game and packs a solid wallop of his own, but is prone to head-hunting and struggles when he isn’t the one leading the dance.

If Della Maddalena can put Roberts on the back foot, it won’t be long before he adds to his KO totals with a body shot or a clean counter to the kisser.

Fialho vs. Salikhov ends by KO/TKO (-150)

Andre Fialho has earned 13 of his 16 scalps via strikes and fallen to them in three of his five defeats. Meanwhile, Muslim Salikhov boasts a solid Wushu Sanda pedigree and 12 KO/TKO wins in 18 career victories.

A boxing-heavy striker who’s at his best when pressing forward, Fialho will likely look to cut off the cage and trap Salikhov against the fence, with the latter picking his shots and patiently finding his timing. Whether Fialho finds a home for his mitts or Salikhov does the same for one of his patented spinning techniques, one of these men will be left counting the lights.

Lewis by KO/TKO (+200)

I’d be remiss if I didn’t cap a knockout-centric parlay with the UFC’s all-time KO king. Lewis boasts 13 knockout wins in 17 promotional victories, and I like his chances of scoring a 14th against a grappler who folded to strikes in two of his three UFC losses.

In yet another style clash, Lewis will likely need to muscle his way out of some dangerous positions on the mat as only he can before sending Spivac to the shadow realm with his granite right hand.
