CODE: SBRUFC 330 Best Bets for Philadelphia: Makhachev by Decision, Turner KO & More
Last Updated: August 14, 2026 12:57 PM EDT • 5 minute read X Social Google News Link
Saturday's UFC 330 card at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia features two title fights, headlined by Islam Makhachev defending his welterweight belt against Ian Machado Garry. Mackenzie Dern puts the strawweight title on the line against Gillian Robertson in the co-main event. My UFC 330 best bets & predictions break down the whole card.
I'm avoiding most of the expensive moneylines and looking for better prices in the method-of-victory and round markets. My top pick is Makhachev by decision at +135. I'm also backing Dern to win on the scorecards, Jalin Turner by knockout, and an early finish between Mansur Abdul-Malik and Dustin Stoltzfus.

🚀 My best UFC 330 pick: Makhachev by decision (+135) vs. Machado Garry
Ian Machado Garry has become extremely difficult to finish. Each of his last six UFC fights has gone to the judges, and he's never been stopped professionally. Even Shavkat Rakhmonov, who entered their matchup 18-0 with 18 finishes, couldn't put Garry away despite controlling him for nearly 12 minutes.
That's why I'm avoiding Makhachev's massive moneyline and betting him by decision instead.
Makhachev showed us the blueprint against Jack Della Maddalena, going 4-for-4 on takedowns with 19:10 of control time in a 50-45 sweep. Garry's size and scrambling should help him survive, but that doesn't mean he'll win rounds. At +135, I like Islam to control long stretches of this fight and grind out another five-round decision.

Dern by decision (+150) vs. Robertson
Mackenzie Dern and Gillian Robertson are two of the division's best grapplers, which could keep either woman from finding an easy submission. I'm expecting plenty of competitive grappling rather than one fighter simply overwhelming the other on the mat.
Dern's improvement on the feet gives her the edge for me. She's become much more comfortable winning minutes with her striking when the grappling stalls, while Robertson is coming off a unanimous decision over Amanda Lemos, where her wrestling helped turn the fight in her favor.
I see a close fight that reaches the judges. Dern has more ways to bank rounds, particularly if Robertson can't consistently establish top position. At +150, I'd rather bet Dern by decision than pay the extra price on her moneyline.
Turner by KO/TKO (+200) vs. Fernandes
Jalin Turner is not someone I want to bet to win on points. Every one of his 15 professional victories has come by finish, including 11 knockouts.
Turner is also enormous for a lightweight. He's 6-foot-3 with a 77-inch reach, while Kaue Fernandes is 5-foot-9 with a 73-inch reach. Fernandes' best weapon is his leg kicking, but he has to step into range to use it against a long southpaw with serious power.
We just saw Turner punish Edson Barboza from that range, landing 39 significant strikes to Barboza's 10, scoring two knockdowns, and forcing a first-round stoppage in barely two minutes.
Fernandes has never been finished, so there's real risk here. Still, at +200, I'd rather bet the outcome Turner has produced in 11 of his 15 career wins than ask him to manage a clean 15-minute decision.
Abdul-Malik vs. Stoltzfus under 1.5 rounds (+125)
Mansur Abdul-Malik brings enough power and physicality to turn a middleweight fight chaotic in a hurry. Rather than laying a huge price on him to win, I'm betting that somebody gets finished early.
Dustin Stoltzfus has been involved in plenty of those fights. Brunno Ferreira knocked him out at 4:51 of Round 1, while Stoltzfus' own win over Marc-Andre Barriault ended by knockout at 4:28 of the opening round.
Abdul-Malik has shown he can fight deeper, so I'm not treating an early finish as automatic. But Stoltzfus is hittable and dangerous enough to force exchanges instead of simply trying to survive. At +125, I'll take my chances that one of these middleweights gets the other out of there before the midway point of Round 2.

💡 How I'm betting UFC 330
I'm leaning heavily into method-of-victory and round props on this card rather than paying inflated prices on the favorites. Makhachev and Abdul-Malik are both fighters I expect to win, but their moneylines don't give me much to work with.
Makhachev's control-heavy style and Garry's durability make the decision prop more interesting, while Abdul-Malik's explosiveness and Stoltzfus' durability issues have me looking at the under 1.5 rounds instead of Abdul-Malik straight up.
Turner by KO follows the same idea. Every professional win of his has come by finish, so I'd rather take plus money on the outcome he produces than lay juice on his moneyline. Dern by decision is a little different. I'm expecting two high-level grapplers to make life difficult for each other on the mat, which should give Dern's improved striking more opportunities to decide rounds.
I've got 4.5 units spread across four bets, with a potential profit of 6.78 units if they all hit. On this card, the prices on specific outcomes interest me much more than simply picking four winners.
