With 11 games on tap, there’s no shortage of betting opportunities as I narrow the scope and offer my NHL predictions today.

I feature three players, all of whom play on Eastern Conference teams. Kirill Marchenko faces his former team for the first time, Logan Stankoven has been terrific in enemy environments, and Cole Caufield will again be focused on taking a bite out of the San Jose Sharks.

NHL best bet today

Kirill Marchenko Over 0.5 assists (+124 via FanDuel)

Kirell Marchenko notched one assist in six of 10 games, including against the San Jose Sharks on Monday. His helper last night broke a mini two-game assist drought.

He and linemates William Nylander and Nick Paul had the biggest expected-goals share in that game (52.3%). Most importantly, Marchenko faces his former team for the first time since being dealt to the Maple Leafs in the summer.

That extra motivation should result in an assist.

📡 SBR Edge:  Maple Leafs’ special teams advantage

Five of Marchenko’s 10 points have come on the Maple Leafs’ fifth-ranked power play (28.6%). It is up against the Blue Jackets’ fourth-worst penalty kill (68%).

More NHL picks & predictions

Logan Stankoven Over 2.5 shots (+132 via bet365)

I love this prop more than the Carolina Hurricanes enjoy playing the Vancouver Canucks. Logan Stankoven hit the Over on this total in three of the previous four games. He has at least three shots in four of six away games, including three in a row. He had 16 shot attempts in the last three games.

Stankoven also fired at least three shots in the last two meetings with the Canucks and netted a hat trick when they played in Raleigh on Oct. 8.

Finally, the Canucks allow the most shots per game (32.7), and the Hurricanes average the second-most (33.1).

Cole Caufield anytime goal (+100 via FanDuel)

I get the sense that Caufield is in the early stages of a hot streak. Like most elite goal-scorers, Cole Caufield is streaky, and he has scored three goals in his last three games.

After netting two in the last game against the Buffalo Sabres, Caufield gets the bonus of facing a San Jose Sharks team that played last night in Toronto. I’m also into the fact that Caufield terrorizes the Sharks most times they meet, with five goals in the last six head-to-heads and three in the last four.
