NHL Predictions Today: Odds, Picks & Best Bets for Monday, Oct. 12
Last Updated: October 12, 2026 9:30 AM EDT • 3 minute read X Social Google News Link
With only three games on the Monday docket, I’ve selected a pick from each in my NHL predictions today.
In a rare occurrence, goal-scorer bets have swept the selections, as I’m banking on Tim Stutzle, Tage Thompson, and Kirill Kaprizov to light the lamp. I’ve also offered a bonus pick, featuring one of the three aforementioned stars.

💰 NHL best bet today
Tim Stutzle anytime goal (+220 via FanDuel)
Stutzle is loving life without Brady Tkachuk, as the Senators' assistant captain has four goals in the previous four games. He has netted three goals in as many away games.
What’s more impressive is that Stutzle has only 1.9 expected goals. He has 2.2 goals above expected, the 11th-most. That’s a testament to how ruthless he’s been in front of the net, and with his confidence soaring, I don’t expect a regression to come for another few games.
I also like the fact that Stutzle lit the lamp in the previous two meetings with the New Jersey Devils.
📡 SBR Bonus Bet: Stutzle Over 0.5 assists (+105)
I’m as keen on Stutzle to notch at least one helper, which he’s done in four of five games. Stutzle secured one assist in all three away games, and he’s on a three-game assist streak against the Devils. The odds for him to notch a helper are set at +105 at bet365.

Tage Thompson anytime goal (+140 via FanDuel)
I love the +108 odds for Thompson to fire at least four shots on goal, which he’s done in all five games. However, the Florida Panthers concede the sixth-fewest shots per game (23.2).
So, I’m turning to the Sabres’ in-form forward lighting the lamp for the fourth time this season. He scored three goals in the previous four games, all at KeyBank Center. And while he hasn’t had much luck against the Panthers, Thompson netted once in the previous two meetings.
He’s accounting for 32.5% of ice time, among the most for forwards. The Panthers have been fairly good defensively, but they’re playing their fifth away game in six to start the season.
Kirill Kaprizov anytime goal (+135 via BetMGM)
The Thrill has six goals, tied for the most with four others. Kaprizov broke a two-game goal-less streak with an astonishing hat trick against the Panthers on Saturday, and he has a ridiculous shooting percentage of 46.2.
While there is no way he’ll keep scoring on almost half his shots, Kaprizov is so hot he’s burning up. His 2.5 goals above expected are the eighth-best, and I’m willing to bank on another strong showing from the superstar.
After four straight wins, the Golden Knights are due for an underwhelming game, and Kaprizov scored against them the last time they met at Grand Casino Arena.
