The Carolina Hurricanes look to even up the Stanley Cup Final on home ice after a surprisingly sloppy loss against the Golden Knights in the series opener.
My Golden Knights vs. Hurricanes prediction for Game 2 offers a game pick, best bet, and top player prop to target. Puck drop is at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday from the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, N.C. (ABC, ESPN), with the Hurricanes priced as a -160 home betting favorite.

š Who will win Golden Knights vs. Hurricanes?
I have the Hurricanes winning Game 2 against the Golden Knights 3-2 to even up the Stanley Cup Final. They will clean up the uncharacteristic mistakes we saw from them in the series opener while continuing to dominate even-strength play through their dominant forecheck.
Carolina was the best home team in the league this season, and I don't see the Canes losing two in a row on home ice.
Score prediction: Hurricanes 3, Golden Knights 2 (+2200)
š° Golden Knights vs. Hurricanes prediction & best bet
Hurricanes to win in regulation (+105)
The Hurricanes haven't lost back-to-back home games since early January, a stretch that includes nearly 30 contests. Carolina was the better five-on-five team in Game 1 despite the loss. That's been the case all postseason for the Canes as the playoffs' best even-strength side. I expect a much better effort from the Hurricanes' back line and goalie Frederik Andersen to win a lower-scoring matchup in Game 2.
I'm backing the Hurricanes to get the job done in regulation at DraftKings' +105 odds, but there's value paying up to -110 if that is all that's available to you at the best sports betting sites.
🥅 Golden Knights vs. Hurricanes Over / Under
I'm not the only one on the 'Canes, as our Gary Pearson likes them to win 3-2, cashing the Under 6, saying:
"Andersen finished with his worst goals saved above expected (-3.03), and Carter Hart had -1.57 goals saved above expected. A repeat of those poor performances is unlikely."
š„ Best Golden Knights vs. Hurricanes player prop bets
K'Andre Miller Over 0.5 assists (+158)
The addition of K'Andre Miller is a significant reason why Carolina finally got over the hump to win the Eastern Conference. The minutes-munching defenseman is helping drive play offensively, and he's my favorite prop for tonight.
He leads all Hurricanes defensemen in points, all nine of which are assists. That includes logging a helper in three of his last four games.
Miller has tallied an assist in 64% of his games this postseason, which significantly trumps the 38.76% probability that FanDuel's +158 odds imply, per our odds converter. That's why this is my favorite player prop to back for Game 2.
Gary Pearson bonus prop: Taylor Hall Over 0.5 points (-108)
Only once in these playoffs has Hall failed to register a point in consecutive games, which occurred in Games 1 and 2 against the Canadiens. I blame the 11 rest days between series for the anomalous lack of production.
He had only two shots in a quiet Game 1, which should provide the platform for the Conn Smythe contender to bounce back emphatically, especially with the heightened importance of avoiding a 2-0 series deficit heading to Las Vegas.
Hall has 16 points in 14 playoff games, scoring at least one nine times. FanDuel provides the best price.
š Golden Knights vs. Hurricanes same-game parlay
Iām combining Hurricanes to win in regulation with Miller Over 0.5 assists to create a 2-leg parlay at DraftKings' +423 odds. Carolina has been the NHL's best home team all year, while Miller has been the Canes' standout defensemen on both ends of the ice this postseason.
💵 Golden Knights vs. Hurricanes SGP picks
- Hurricanes to win in regulation (+105)
- K'Andre Miller Over 0.5 assists (+155)
Best odds: +423 via DraftKings (0.1u -> 0.42u)

š” How I'm betting Golden Knights vs. Hurricanes
Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.
My most confident play (Hurricanes to win in regulation) is getting a full-unit wager, as there's much better value than the -160 odds we're seeing at the best sports betting apps on Carolina's moneyline.
I'm slightly less confident in the total, which is why I'm betting 0.5 units on Under 6 after Game 2 featured nine combined goals. Bankroll management is crucial in sports betting, so be smart with yours.
