We tee up the Week 16 Monday Night Football contest with our top NFL prop picks as the Miami Dolphins take on the New Orleans Saints.

The Saints have been hit by a quarterback crisis ahead of their vital Week 16 clash with the Dolphins. With Jameis Winston long ruled out for the season due to a torn ACL, backups Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian were placed on the COVID-19 reserve list, along with several other key players.

That caused New Orleans to go from a 3.5-point favorite to a 3-point underdog against a Miami team that has won six games in a row. Rookie QB Ian Book is set for his first NFL start in a game that the Saints cannot afford to lose.

Here are my top NFL prop picks for the Monday Night Football matchup between the Dolphins and Saints (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Top Monday Night Football Prop Picks

Monday Night Football Prop Picks

Both teams to score 15 points: No (-166)

The Saints defense should be full of confidence after leading the team to a 9-0 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last weekend. It represented Bucs QB Tom Brady’s first shutout defeat since 2006.

The Dolphins have won six in a row, but most of those victories came against struggling teams that have no chance of making the playoffs.

The Saints had finally grown accustomed to the dual-threat Taysom Hill under center, but they must now adjust to rookie Book, and it seems unlikely that they will muster a large score on Monday.

The Over/Under dropped from 40.5 to 37 after several Saints players were placed on the COVID list, and it should be a tight game. It seems very reasonable to expect one or both teams to stay fall short of 15 points.

Kamara Over 55.5 rushing yards (-115)

The running game will be crucial to the Saints’ chances of success on Monday. They cannot rely on the talents of their rookie QB, so Kamara and veteran Mark Ingram will need to come to the forefront.

The Dolphins rank seventh against the run this year, with just 103.7 yards given up per game. However, they struggled against elite opponents in the early weeks of the season, and they have recently flourished against some of the worst rushing attacks in the NFL – the Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans, Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, and New York Giants.

It will be another matter entirely when they come up against a fired-up Kamara on Monday night. We do not yet know if Pro Bowl tackles Terron Armstead (knee) and Ryan Ramczyk (knee) will be back, but even if just one of them plays, Kamara’s chances of topping 55.5 rushing yards for only the second time in four weeks will enjoy a significant boost.

Under 3.5 touchdowns (+114)

The Saints have not allowed a touchdown in their last two games. They restricted the Jets to field goals in a 30-9 win in Week 14, and they then ground out a 9-0 win against the reigning Super Bowl champions last week.

The Dolphins’ offense has been beating up on bad teams in recent weeks, but it could regress against this rowdy Saints defense.

However, the Saints are likely to struggle to score multiple touchdowns when you consider the QB situation, so Under 3.5 TDs looks appealing for our Monday Night Football prop picks.
