The 8-3 Dolphins have won five straight and are looking to keep pace with the Buffalo Bills for the best record in the AFC East. First-year head coach Mike McDaniel is at the controls of the NFL's third-ranked offense, and the sixth-best scoring unit.
He'll go up against his mentor in Shanahan, the leader of the 7-4 49ers who have won four straight. The Niners haven't lost since fully incorporating superstar running back Christian McCaffrey into their offense.

The 49ers could be a powerhouse in the NFC, and they're fresh off of a 13-0 shutout of the New Orleans Saints. Meanwhile, the Dolphins may boast a longer winning streak, but they've feasted on inferior competition lately.
As a result, the Niners were installed as 4.5-point favorites when lines opened. The line has since dropped to 4, with 53% of the cash and 72% of the tickets backing the Dolphins.

Both teams are legitimate Super Bowl contenders, with offensive masterminds leading each squad. While the 49ers field the superior defense, McDaniel has spent enough time in San Francisco's building to scheme up an offensive game plan that takes advantage of some vulnerabilities, particularly in the Niners' secondary.
The 49ers have been limiting teams to 15.7 points per game. However, a shutout of the Saints and the 13 points per game they allowed against the Los Angeles Rams, Chargers, and Arizona Cardinals are skewing that average. The Kansas City Chiefs scored 44 points on San Francisco back in Week 7.

McDaniel spent four years as Shanahan's run-game coordinator and the 2021 season as his offensive coordinator. If there's one guarantee, it's that there will be an abundance of trickery and creative play calls made, many of which could result in a touchdown.
