The Indianapolis Colts visit the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football in Week 2, and I’m backing the Over in my Colts vs. Chiefs early prediction. The Colts were defensively abysmal in their lopsided Week 1 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens, and the Chiefs should have a more unpredictable attack than last season.
The Chiefs are the 6.5-point betting favorite, according to the opening odds. SNF at Arrowhead Stadium will kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC). While the Over is my go-to play, I’m also backing the Chiefs to cover the spread at home.

Over 47.5 (-118 via FanDuel)
The Ravens' offense blew the Colts apart, putting up 41 points and 526 yards. And that was in Indianapolis. While the Chiefs' offense likely won’t be as dynamic or explosive as the Ravens', Patrick Mahomes and Co. can pack a punch at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Chiefs scored at least 30 points in four of the six home games prior to Mahomes’ devastating injury against the Los Angeles Chargers. That unit should be markedly better with Kenneth Walker III, who will facilitate a more diverse attack.
After losing three of their top edge rushers after last season, the Colts will likely struggle to get sustained pressure on Mahomes.
The Colts, meanwhile, were immensely productive offensively before Daniel Jones’ injury last season, and nine of 11 offensive starters have returned.
📡 SBR Edge - Swiss cheese
Dating back to last season, the Colts allowed at least 36 points in four of the previous six games. And their pass rush isn’t as strong as last season’s

Colts vs. Chiefs line movement
The opening line hasn’t moved despite the Colts’ 41-23 Week 1 defeat to the Ravens. We’ll have to wait and see how the market will react after the Chiefs play their opener on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos.
However, I like the fact that Mahomes and Jones will have one game under their belt when they face each other Sunday in Kansas City, Mo.
