Bears vs. Seahawks Prediction: Week 8 Odds, Picks & Best Bet (Nov. 2)

Seattle and Chicago each strengthened its rosters with trades for former All-Pro linemen this week, but my Bears vs. Seahawks prediction expects Chicago’s trade to impact its team more positively, at least in the short term for this matchup. Backing a Bears cover goes against the Seahawks’ historical dominance on Monday Night Football, but as always, I’m comfortable making the contrarian play.
Kickoff from Lumen Field is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN), and Seattle is a 3.5-point betting favorite.

Bears vs. Seahawks prediction & best bet
Bears +3.5 (-124 via bet365)
Seattle’s defense was dominant in the way that it held down Kansas City’s offense in Patrick Mahomes’ 153rd game with the team. In that span. Kansas City’s three points last week was tied for its fewest, its 213 yards was its second fewest, and it was the only game where it did not produce a red zone drive.
All of that figured to have an impact on the line for this week’s game, but a big difference is Chicago has weapons in the passing game that Kansas City simply does not. Caleb Williams is coming off his second straight 300-yard game since returning from injury. He is the first Bears quarterback with consecutive 300-yard games since Mitch Trubisky in 2018, and he has a 75.4% completion percentage, 613 yards, and three touchdowns in that span.
Seattle’s offense was buoyed by its defensive performance last week, but should regress significantly when facing an opponent who can move the ball and put more scoreboard pressure on them. Through Weeks 1-6, the Seahawks averaged 5.1 plays per drive (31st) and 2:30 time of possession per drive (30th).
📡 SBR Edge: Bucking a MNF trend
Seattle's 31-13 record all-time on Monday Night Football is the best by any team since the Monday Night Football franchise began in 1970. In addition, the Seahawks have covered 16 of their 24 MNF matchups since 2005.
Chicago strengthened an already impressive pass rush
Chicago’s defense has recorded at least two sacks in each of the first seven games of the season, the most in the league. That matches the 1987 Bears defense’s streak, which is tied for the third-longest to start a season.
The Bears traded for Jeffrey Simmons, who has seen the most double teams on pass rushes since 2019 (1,862). He looks to strengthen a front that generated the 23rd-highest pass rush among interior defenders. He brings his NFL-high 27% pass rush win rate, the highest rate among all defensive tackles. The improved pass rush should cause more issues for Sam Darnold, who has thrown eight interceptions since Week 3.
