Naz Reid Over 1.5 three-pointers made (-126)

The first thing I did when handicapping this game was ignore Game 4. Why? Because Wembanyama’s ejection changed the entire dynamic, and he likely won’t be ejected again today. Reid made two or more 3-pointers in each of the first three games in this series, including a 4-of-8 performance from deep in Game 3.

He shot 50% or higher from beyond the arc in each game, so three open looks today might be enough to cash this. DraftKings has Reid Over 1.5 three-pointers made at -126, but this bet is good up to -150 on the best sports betting sites.

I know player-prop markets are technically efficient - if you beat the closing line, you'll likely be profitable over a large sample - but Wembanyama’s points prop has been too high this entire postseason. He's scored 27 or fewer in six of his last seven outings and has attempted 18 or more shots just twice in the playoffs.

For reference, Anthony Edwards - who is lined at 25.5 points - has attempted 22 or more field goals in back-to-back games. Wembanyama Under 27.5 is -118 at DraftKings, but I'd play this up to -140 on the best sports betting apps.

Fox attempted 19 shots in Game 3 (which is the most recent useful data point we have, since Game 4 was mostly noise). 💡 How I'm betting Timberwolves vs. Spurs: NBA Playoffs Game 5 strategy

This matchup is unique in the sense that, while you want to base your predictions on the other games in this series, Game 4 was so odd that I don't think it should count at all toward projections. Wembanyama being ejected in the first half completely changed the dynamic of the game, from how both teams operated on both ends of the floor, and that situation likely won't present itself again tonight. The best thing to do when handicapping Game 5 is to analyze Games 1 through 3 and ignore the noise that was Game 4.
