In the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, the No. 3 seed Minnesota Timberwolves (56-26) face a tough challenge against the No. 6 seed Phoenix Suns (49-33). Game 1 is set for Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN) at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minn.

Suns vs. Timberwolves prop bet predictions for Saturday

Anthony Edwards Under 25.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

While Edwards has historically upped his scoring totals in the postseason, I'm skeptical he can reach this mark Saturday against a Suns defense that held him to 14.3 points per game across three previous meetings.

Phoenix flustered the fourth-year guard with double teams and constant pressure on the perimeter, and I'd expect Kevin Durant - whose length bothered Edwards in the regular season - to draw the star scorer again for key stretches of Game 1.

The Under is dealing as short as -125, which implies a 55.56% chance of cashing. We'll instead take these -110 odds for a $19.09 payout on a $10 wager.

Mike Conley Over 18.5 points + assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If the Suns force the ball out of Edwards' hands as they did in the regular season, that puts the onus squarely on Conley to pick up the slack for his backcourt mate.

He struggled in the first two meetings vs. Phoenix but scored 17 points with two assists in Sunday's season finale, which came on the heels of a 10-assist game two days earlier.

With these -112 odds implying a 52.83% hit rate, I like Conley's chances of stepping up Saturday in his 79th career playoff game.

Jusuf Nurkic Over 18.5 points + rebounds ⭐⭐⭐

While Nurkic has averaged nearly 21 combined points and rebounds this year, I'm mostly drawn to this prop as a way of fading Gobert's impact defensively.

Yes, the Timberwolves center is the favorite by the NBA Defensive Player of the Year odds, but I'd expect him to be regularly drawn out of the paint by the elite mid-range shooting of Durant and Devin Booker. That would provide both scoring and rebounding opportunities for Nurkic, who should log more time Saturday than he did in these teams' three regular-season meetings.
