It’s no secret that Wembanyama struggled to rebound after Game 2 in the West finals, once the Thunder started playing Isaiah Hartenstein more minutes and began benching Chet Holmgren in key spots. What frustrated Wembanyama was Hartenstein’s strength, which is why he’ll continue to struggle to rebound today against Robinson and Towns, who are both heavier than Wembanyama despite being four inches shorter.

I’m not looking too closely at head-to-head results between these teams from earlier in the season, since both have improved drastically, and in different ways.

The Spurs’ style of play has changed throughout the season, as Wembanyama has become more dominant and Harrison Barnes has taken on a smaller role, which has helped Julian Champagnie flourish as a shooter.

The Knicks have also seen a dramatic shift in playstyle, as Towns is now more of a distributor in the postseason, rather than a 1B offensive option alongside Jalen Brunson.
