OK, so maybe we know which L.A. team is better. After all, the Clippers have won the last nine head-to-head meetings with the Lakers and they are once again the betting favorites for Tuesday's showdown. 

Both teams come into this matchup on a two-game win streak. The Clippers (25-24) are coming off a 112-98 win over the Dallas Mavericks, while the Lakers (22-25) are fresh off a 121-112 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Clippers opened as 4-point favorites, but the line has moved to 5 across the board by Tuesday evening. Neither team has fared well against the spread, as the Clippers are 23-26 ATS and the Lakers are 22-24-1 at covering the number.

As for the total, an opening number of 234 has plummeted down to a consensus of 230 as of Tuesday evening. That’s probably because the Clippers are 30-19 to the Under, while the Lakers are 25-22 to the Over.

We aren’t getting as good of a number at this point, but all signs point toward the Under being the right play for this game. 

For one, the Clippers are just an Under machine and pace the league with 61.2% of their games finishing below the point total. That's due to a combination of the Clippers ranking fourth in scoring defense by giving up 110.5 points per game and also being 29th in scoring offense with an average of 109.7 points per contest.

The Lakers could also be without LeBron James, who is listed as questionable due to an ankle injury. He has played in four consecutive games while being questionable but could take the night off with this being the first game of a back-to-back. James hasn’t fared well against the Clippers of late, so the Under might be even juicier if he ends up playing and the number climbs back up.

I project this total at around 225, so I still see enough of an edge in the current line to recommend this as a three-star bet.
