NFL Player Props for Week 1: Best Prop Bets This Week

After player prop offerings were few are far between throughout the entire preseason, I’m beyond excited to dive into the data to comprise my NFL player props for Week 1. With the first game of the season already completed, I’m focusing my wagers on Sunday’s slate of games, highlighted by the Cowboys-Giants Sunday night tilt in John Harbaugh’s first game coaching New York.

To add to the rest of our NFL Week 1 predictions, I have my top wagers on three different positions (quarterback, running back, and wide receiver). Not only do I expect Harbaugh’s Giants defense to slow down Dak Prescott more than it has in the past, but I found a great value play on an anytime touchdown scorer from a team that is one of the week’s biggest underdogs.

Chris Olave anytime touchdown scorer (+160 via bet365)

Olave and the Saints face a Lions defense against which four different wide receivers had multiple touchdowns in a game. Olave’s only two two-touchdown games came last year, and he was clearly a top option for both Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough, seeing double-digit targets nine times.

Olave seemingly has just as good a chance to score from the red zone as he does to hit on a bigger pass play, as Detroit’s defense allowed the most pass plays of 30-plus yards last year (30). And with New Orleans being one of three teams on the Week 1 slate that’s an underdog of at least a touchdown, game script should dictate a heavy passing attack.

Bucky Irving Over 75.5 rushing + receiving yards (-111 via DraftKings)

The Bengals have been slow starters over the last several years, and much of their struggles have been because of a poor defense. Through the first five games over the last four seasons, Cincinnati's points per game allowed has worsened each year as follows: 17.8, 22.8, 29.0, and 31.2. With another projected shootout on tap, Tampa Bay's lead running back should have a field day.

Though the Bengals went all-in on defense to replace several starters, it is still hard to trust a unit that gave up the most rushing yards on missed tackles in the entire league. That's why I'm so high on Irving, who had 37% of his yardage come after missed tackles (the second highest in the league). 

This isn't the lowest total on the market, but the Over of 74.5 yards at BetMGM was juiced to -125. Therefore, I'm opting for the much better price and payout at DraftKings while only compromising one yard of value.

Dak Prescott Under 261.5 passing yards (-113 via DraftKings)

Dak Prescott is a gaudy 14-3 in his career against the Giants while averaging a 101.5 passer rating and 255.6 passing yards per game. And in that head-to-head rivalry, he has topped 300 yards and threw for three-plus touchdowns on six occasions each. 

Despite that success, my biggest reason for backing the Under is Dallas’ offensive line issues. Two of Prescott’s three average shortest times to throw last season came in the Week 2 and Week 18 matchups against New York. Now Tyler Smith has been placed on IR (left thumb surgery). And while Tyler Guyton allowed zero sacks through his first six games as a pass blocker in 2025, he allowed four sacks over the final four games.
