The Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals are both on the path to the playoffs. They face off for a three-game set in St. Louis this weekend. Here are our MLB same-game parlay picks for Braves-Cardinals.
The Braves conclude a six-game road trip in St. Louis after sweeping the Pittsburgh Pirates. They’ve now won 14 of their last 16 games to improve to 78-48 on the season.
The Cardinals are also running rather hot right now with a 10-2 record in their last 12 games and 18-5 in August to improve to 72-53 overall.
Here are my same game parlay picks for Friday’s Braves vs. Cardinals game (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook).

Braves vs. Cardinals Same Game Parlay Predictions
Contreras to record a hit (-165)
William Contreras is batting .313 this season against left-handed pitching and went 2-for-2 with a double and home run back in June against then-Pirates starter Jose Quintana. The Braves catcher gets to face off against Quintana again riding a hot streak. Contreras has a hit in 11 of his last 12, 14 of his last 16, and 21 of his last 30 games.
On the season, Contreras has recorded a hit in 45 of 69 games (implied odds of -188), so we’re getting some value here at -165, especially given his recent play.
Swanson to score a run (-115)
Dansby Swanson bats near the top of the Braves lineup and has been scoring a lot of runs recently. He has scored in seven of his last 10 games for a total of nine runs in that span.
The Braves are 28-12 against left-handed pitchers this season and that’s due to having big right-handed bats in their lineup with Austin Riley and Contreras hitting behind Swanson and Ronald Acuna Jr. We could very well see Contreras drive in Swanson on Friday night.
Strider Under 7.5 strikeouts (-134)
The Contreras and Swanson legs of the parlay bring us to +201 odds. Adding the -158 Braves only takes it up to +275, but adding this play at only -134 brings it to +432 due to correlation.
Spencer Strider has shown tons of promise this season with four double-digit strikeout games, including 12 punchouts against the Cardinals back in July. However, Strider has been held Under 7.5 strikeouts in 15 of 25 starts this season, including four of his last six.
On top of that, St. Louis has been putting the ball in play a lot recently.
St. Louis has a 20.4% strikeout rate (26th-lowest) this season and 19.2% (27th-lowest) in the last 30 days. Opposing starters haven’t struck out more than seven batters against them since Graham Ashcraft struck out eight on July 22. In fact, Strider and Ashcraft are the only two starters to record eight-plus strikeouts against the Braves since June 21.
