The ACC now has the top-ranked program in the country and enters Week 8 as a massive home betting favorite in my Pitt vs. Miami prediction.

No. 1 Miami, led by QB Darian Mensah, will attempt to extend his Mensah's elite passing production against a top-25 Pitt defense. The Hurricanes are -20.5-point betting favorites from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., leading up to Saturday's kickoff at 12:00 p.m. ET (ESPN/Disney+).

Pitt +20.5(-114 via FanDuel)

Pitt is onto its backup quarterback, Holden Geriner, entering this game. Geriner's lone start resulted in a 21-17 loss to UNC in Week 6.

Now, Geriner is back under center as QB1. However, he'll now face a Miami defense that just showed some cracks, giving up 4 passing touchdowns and 300 yards in a 43-35 OT win over Florida State.

Pitt's defense is the strength of its team. It'll need every ounce of talent to contain Mensah, who has an 80 percent completion rate with 18 touchdowns and just 1 interception.

Ultimately, 20 points is too much to ignore with Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi's defense. Even with a quarterback carousel since Week 5, Pitt has covered +20.5 in every matchup this season.

Go to FanDuel to bet Pitt +20.5 at -114 odds.

📡 SBR Edge: "U"nderdog Spot

Miami has not covered as a home betting favorite in 15 of its last 16 games played in October.

Pitt Defense Steps Up Against Hurricanes' No. 1 Offense

Pitt's defense is going to do everything it can to contain Mensah and the Hurricanes' record-breaking passing attack. RB Mark Fletcher Jr. poses a different set of problems for the Panthers, who have held opponents to a stingy 2.0 YPC.

While Pitt won't win outright as a near 10-1 underdog against the nation's No. 1-ranked team, they have yet to lose by more than 6 points this season. A top-tier defense should allow the Panthers to cover as a 20-point underdog in Miami.

Play to: Pitt +17.5

Score prediction: Miami 37, Pitt 20
