Ohio State vs. Indiana Prediction: Week 7 Odds, Picks & Best Bet

It’s a rematch of last year’s Big Ten Championship Game and a matchup with huge College Football Playoff implications as No. 5 Indiana hosts No. 4 Ohio State. My Ohio State vs. Indiana prediction backs the home underdogs, while the line is more than a field goal, citing the Hoosiers' advantages on the line of scrimmage.
An Indiana win would be its 23rd straight and would tie the 2014-15 Buckeyes for the second-longest winning streak by a Big Ten team over the last 50 seasons.
Kickoff from Memorial Stadium in Bloomington is set for noon ET on Saturday (FOX). Ohio State is a 3.5-point betting favorite.

Indiana +3.5 (-112 via DraftKings)
Many are writing off Indiana after an uninspiring 20-17 road win against Nebraska, in which it gained 12 fewer first downs and possessed the ball for 19 fewer minutes. But the fact that the Hoosiers could beat a 5-0 team on the road while playing poorly gives me more confidence.
Indiana is expected to have a big advantage in the trenches in this matchup. Its offense has allowed a 19% pressure rate (11th in FBS), while its defense has recorded the third-most sacks (20).
Ohio State’s soft spot on the offensive line is at right tackle thanks to injuries, and Indiana’s dynamic 1-2 punch of edge rushers (Tobi Osunsamni and Stephen Daley) should continue to cause havoc while leading a unit that has recorded 49 tackles for loss (top three among FBS teams).
📡 SBR Edge: Taking care of the football
Indiana quarterback Josh Hoover logged another game with two touchdown passes and zero interceptions last week, after entering Week 6 tied for the most touchdown passes (15) without an interception among FBS quarterbacks.
Indiana's run defense should stymie Ohio State's rushing attack
In last year’s Big Ten Championship, Indiana held Ohio State to 58 yards rushing on 26 carries. But it wasn’t just the run defense that performed well; the Hoosiers' pass rush got home for five sacks of Julian Sayin.
Indiana now ranks in the top 10 in scoring defense and run defense and looks to match Texas, which held Ohio State to 23 points and 3.0 yards per rush. Either way, I’m comfortable taking the points in what should be a slow-paced game between two teams that average 28 and 29.5 seconds between snaps.
Score prediction: Ohio State 24, Indiana 23
