In this preview of the crucial SEC West showdown at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium this Saturday, we'll be sharing our top LSU vs. Ole Miss prediction, based on the college football odds from our best sports betting apps. Can the LSU Tigers secure their third SEC victory with a road win against the Ole Miss Rebels?

The LSU Tigers have amassed 147 points in their three consecutive victories, propelling them to the top of the SEC West standings. Meanwhile, the Ole Miss Rebels are coming off a disappointing 24-10 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Will the LSU offense prove too formidable for Ole Miss, or can the Rebels contain the Tigers in front of their home crowd at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium this Saturday?

Here is our best LSU vs. Ole Miss prediction and college football picks (odds via our best college football betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

LSU vs. Ole Miss prediction: Week 5

LSU team total Over 34 (-110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐

This is a tough contest to pick in our college football predictions for Week 5 because both teams had very questionable performances this season. With how the Seminoles looked the past two games, the Tigers’ “good” loss may not be all that good.

As for the Rebels, their high-flying offense was stifled last week. They’d averaged nearly 53 points per game, then scored just 10. We’re unsure how they’ll fare against a decent defense Saturday.

One thing we're confident in is the Tigers’ offense. With Jayden Daniels under center, the Tigers scored at least 24 points per game, and average almost 43 per contest. The Rebels’ defense gave up 20 points or more in three of their past four matchups. They’ve played decent offenses, but the Tigers’ will be the best they’ve faced this season.

The game total is much too high to trust, especially if the Rebels’ offense was just benefitting from weak defenses early in the year. However, the Rebels give up points no matter who they play, while the Tigers score at will, even if they don’t win the game.

Over 34.5N/AN/AN/AOver 34
-120N/AN/AN/A-110

Only two of the five major sportsbooks offer this bet right now. DraftKings charges -120 for 34.5, while bet365 is just -110 for 34. So, it’s a no-brainer where to bet.

Keep an eye on the team totals our best sports betting apps offer throughout the week. With the total dropping across the board, the Tigers' number may drop below 34. We’re comfortable taking this up to 35, but won't go any higher than that. Obviously, lower is always better.

LSU vs. Ole Miss odds

LSU vs. Ole Miss odds analysis

The Tigers opened as 1.5-point road favorites. At this point, they've seen 76% of wagers, which moved the line to 2.5. Based on the prices for LSU at each of the best sports betting sites, it’s just a matter of time before this spread moves to the key number of 3.

The total opened at 67.5, and either remained there or dropped at each of our best sportsbooks. More than 72% of wagers back the Under, so expect this number to keep dropping, possibly as low as 66.
