This highly anticipated SEC East clash between the Kentucky Wildcats and Georgia Bulldogs is one of two matchups featuring AP top-20 schools, and we're here to offer our top prediction for the Kentucky vs. Georgia game, meticulously crafted using the college football odds obtained from our best sports betting apps.

In this SEC East clash, both teams are on a winning streak, with the Kentucky Wildcats boasting a 5-0 record for only the fifth time in the past 72 seasons, and the Georgia Bulldogs setting a program record with 22 consecutive victories.

This Saturday's matchup marks the first time these schools have faced each other as ranked opponents since 2021 when No. 1 Georgia defeated No. 11 Kentucky 30-13.

Here is our best Kentucky-Georgia prediction and our college football picks (odds via our best college football betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Kentucky vs. Georgia prediction: Week 6

Georgia -14.5 (-105 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

Georgia has won 13 consecutive meetings with Kentucky, with the Wildcats’ last victory in Athens coming in 2009. It's only a matter of gauging the margin of Georgia's victory in this game.

The Bulldogs haven't come close to putting together a complete game yet, at least by their standards. Georgia has faced a double-digit deficit in both of its SEC games in 2023, and the school has played its five opponents to an even 17-17 combined score in the first quarter. But are we being overly critical of a team that still ranks in the top 19 in points per drive and offensive success rate, and is in the top 10 in points per drive allowed?

Kentucky is already a popular underdog in this contest after covering the spread in four of its five games, and the team is coming off its largest win against Florida (19 points) since 1979. But that kind of performance will likely wake a sleeping giant in Georgia, especially after running back Ray Davis ran for 280 yards in Week 5, which was tied for the third-highest single-game mark in Kentucky history.

The Bulldogs have slipped slightly to No. 14 in scoring defense after finishing each of the last two years in the top five. However, we're not worried about them being able to gel on that side of the ball, as 12 players with experience returned from their national championship squad.

We expect Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck to produce his best game yet, especially since Kentucky has held its first five opponents under 100 rushing yards for the first time in school history. Beck can use the momentum of how he closed out the road game at Auburn in Week 5 to find success. He went 12-for-15 for 201 yards and a touchdown on the team’s final three possessions.

This is a three-star play, as we expect an electric atmosphere at night in Athens will lift the team, especially in the red zone. The 2022 Bulldogs scored touchdowns on 68.6% of their red-zone trips, and the 2023 team is down to 65.4%. Expect some slight positive regression starting now against Kentucky.

All five of our best sportsbooks are rarely aligned with the same point spread. FanDuel is still our go-to shop as the only book offering the favorites at better odds than the standard price of -110.

With FanDuel charging a lower price on the standard point spread, we'll also put a small wager on the alternate spread of -13.5 at -130 odds. Other sportsbooks like DraftKings charge -134 or higher for the same number.

Kentucky vs. Georgia odds analysis

DraftKings and FanDuel have lowered the line significantly from an opening number of -17. At FanDuel there was initial buyback on Georgia when the spread reached -15, but Kentucky backers weighed in heavily after the line spiked back up to -16.5. The early betting splits align with the overall movement thus far, as Kentucky is drawing 75% of the spread wagers.

FanDuel and BetMGM are alone among our best sports betting sites while offering a total of 48.5, as all others are slightly higher at 49. Caesars reached a low of 47 on Monday afternoon, while the low point for all our other best live betting sites was 47.5. The Under has cashed in Kentucky’s previous nine October games against AP-ranked opponents.
