Our Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State prediction is based on the best college football odds from our best sports betting apps, as we look for value from the first half of Friday night's doubleheader.

Kansas State has started its season with a 3-1 record following its Big 12 Championship win last year. The Wildcats' sole loss was a three-point defeat to Missouri, which is ranked No. 21 in the AP Poll.

Rumors swirled that Wildcats head coach Chris Klieman was a potential candidate for the vacant Michigan State head coaching position. However, he has chosen to stay with Kansas State.

On the other side, Oklahoma State kicked off its season with victories against Central Arkansas and Arizona State, but it's since suffered two consecutive losses to South Alabama and Iowa State.

To accompany our college football predictions for Week 6, here is our best Kansas State-Oklahoma State prediction and our college football picks (odds via our best college football betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State prediction: Week 6

Kansas State -10.5 (-110 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐

The transfer portal changed the outlook for many teams. Most notably Colorado, which now fields almost an entirely different squad than in 2022.

However, the portal ravaged other programs like Oklahoma State, as eight starters and 18 players total bolted during the offseason. Those departures have taken a toll on the team over the last two weeks, especially when South Alabama walloped the Cowboys 33-7.

The test won't be easier against a veteran Kansas State group looking to take the Stillwater crowd out of the game with a bruising running attack as part of our college football predictions for Week 6. The Wildcats returned all five starters from an offensive line that finished in the top 45 of PFF’s pass-blocking grade rankings. That unit has been paving the way beautifully for running back DJ Giddens, who ranks fifth in the conference while averaging 6.4 yards per carry (minimum 40 attempts). The offensive line and the Wildcats’ balance offensively are significant reasons why they rank 26th in success rate.

For as much flack as quarterback Will Howard gets for not being a dynamic passer, he did go 5-1 as a starter in 2022 while producing a six-game streak with multiple passing touchdowns and an 82.5 total QBR. And while Kansas State lost six defensive starters from 2022, including four in the secondary, an Oklahoma State offense that ranks 129th in passing down explosiveness isn't built to take advantage of that weakness.

This is a three-star play, as despite Oklahoma State winning seven of the previous eight meetings in Stillwater between these teams, Kansas State is coming off a 48-0 home drubbing of the Cowboys in 2022, and the talent gap may be even wider now.

Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State best odds

BetMGM (-110)

DraftKingsFanDuelBetMGMCaesarsbet365
-11-11.5-10.5-12.5-11.5
-110-110-110-110-110

There's clear value to find here. BetMGM is our go-to shop as Kansas State backers because it's the only place offering a line lower than -11, while Oklahoma State supporters are getting two more points worth of value at Caesars and its offering of +12.5 points.

Don't touch Kansas State at -11 or higher, and we would be more tempted to back the alternate spread of -9.5 if the line starts moving away from the Wildcats.

Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State odds

Kansas State vs. Oklahoma State odds analysis

FanDuel was alone among our best sports betting sites in offering Kansas State at -9.5 briefly, coming off of its opening number of -10. That number didn't last long, as bettors saw a significant discrepancy between that sportsbook and the numbers offered at Caesars. The latter book opened higher at -10.5 before reaching -12.5 and then returned to that level after briefly dipping as low as -11 on Monday morning. Early spread wagers are 3/1 in favor of Kansas State.

There's a one-point variance among the best sports betting sites regarding the total, as BetMGM is the only shop offering an O/U of 54.5, while FanDuel is the only sportsbook on the high end at 55.5. The rise at FanDuel to a total of 55.5 is especially noteworthy, as that shop was as low as 52.5 on Sunday afternoon. Currently, 57% of the early O/U wagers are backing the Over.
