Last Updated: October 3, 2026 10:00 AM EDT • 2 minute read X Social Google News Link
My best Arkansas vs. Texas A&M prediction anticipates a high-scoring SEC matchup on Saturday. Both of these offenses have struggled at times this season, but I expect both to break out of their funks in solid matchups against lackluster defenses.
Texas A&M is favored by 14.5 points ahead of the 7 p.m. ET game at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas. The game will air on ESPN2 and stream on ESPN Unlimited.

Over 50.5 (-105 via BetMGM)
Texas A&M has scored just 27 total points against SEC teams this season, but Marcel Reed still leads an offense that scored at least 48 points in each of its first two games. Additionally, Arkansas' defense doesn't seem to pose much of a threat to solid offenses, as the Razorbacks have allowed at least 43 points to both Utah and Georgia.
Thanks to a shutout in Week 1 against Missouri State, Texas A&M is allowing just 21.5 points per game. However, Texas A&M has allowed at least 31 points in back-to-back contests. While Arkansas is averaging just 23 points per game, the offense has also faced two top-20 scoring defenses. Against each of the other two teams Arkansas has faced, the offense has scored at least 31.
📡 SBR Edge: Bounce back spot for Reed
Reed is coming off arguably his worst game as the Texas A&M quarterback, but Arkansas's defense could provide a great get-right spot for him. Last season against Arkansas, he completed 71.9% of his passes for 280 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
Expect plenty of explosive plays
Arkansas is averaging just 4.85 yards per play, while Texas A&M is averaging 4.78. That said, Texas A&M ranks 110th in yards allowed per play, giving up 6.05 yards per play. Meanwhile, Arkansas ranks 98th, giving up 5.80.
Last season, Reed and Texas A&M starting running back Rueben Owens II led an offense that averaged 6.38 yards per play, which was 21st-best in the nation. Meanwhile, Arkansas quarterback KJ Jackson, who has averaged 7.6 yards per pass in three of his four games, faces a defense that ranks 128th in yards allowed per pass attempt this season.
Score prediction: Texas A&M 45 Arkansas 28
