Tigers' Miguel Cabrera Joins the 3,000 Hit Club

Detroit Tigers designated hitter Miguel Cabrera recorded his 3,000th career hit Saturday vs. the Colorado Rockies.

Joining the historic and celebrated 3,000 hit club is just the tip of the iceberg for Cabrera.
He’s won the American League MVP twice and appeared in 11 All-Star Games. The Venezuelan slugger also won four AL batting titles, which includes his dominant 2012 campaign when he also won the Triple Crown.

He’s also just the seventh player in MLB history to have both 3,000 hits and 500 home runs.
However, after winning the World Series as a rookie in 2003, the 20-year veteran hasn’t won it all since. With the Tigers currently 4-7 on the season and in fourth place in the American League Central Division, this probably won’t be the year, either.
