The seemingly inevitable crossover between North American sports entities and iGaming took a considerable step forward Monday with the announcement of Caesars Sportsbook & Casino — one of our best sportsbooks — gaining the right to use the NFL shield and other league signage on a new “Caesars Football Blackjack” game. The game was immediately available in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

The deal comes as part of the expansion of an official online casino partnership signed in 2021 between North America's most popular sports league, the NFL, and one of North America's top sportsbook/iCasino providers, Caesars Entertainment. Caesars gains the ability to expand its use of NFL logos and marks on its growing online casino platform, which includes the increasingly popular live dealer casino game options on the Caesars site. Caesars is currently the only iGaming company with the right to use NFL marks and logos.

“The expansion of unique live dealer content like ‘Caesars Football Blackjack delivers’ in our mission to bring an elevated experience to our players that they can connect with and enjoy,” said Caesars Digital Senior Vice President & Chief iGaming Officer Matt Sunderland. “Adding the official sponsorship lock-up logo and partnership designation, including the NFL Shield to our live dealer content is an exciting first in the partnership we’ve enjoyed with the NFL for years.”

Caesars Football Blackjack

Caesars has launched a new NFL-themed Blackjack game that will not only appeal to fans of North America's most popular league, but also fans of online, live dealer blackjack. NFL branding will be all over that live “Caesars Football Blackjack” option on the site at a time that NFL exposure is at its height, during Super Bowl Week.

The game adds to what is already considered the most diverse portfolio of iGaming options in the North American market while cleverly bringing the incredible branding of the NFL into their iGaming fold. The portfolio is just one of the reasons that Caesars is considered one of the best sports betting apps.

Caesars Digital currently livestreams American and European Roulette, classic and Infinite Blackjack, Baccarat, Craps, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, and Three Card Poker.

The expansion of the partnership and launch of the NFL-themed game comes during a time of hopeful iGaming growth in a so-far mostly reluctant American market.

Part of a broader Caesars strategy

Caesars Entertainment has been at the forefront of the attempts to expand iGaming markets across North America. Efforts to grow the company's iGaming platform have been rather slow, with Caesars Palace Online Casino available in just three U.S. jurisdictions so far, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Ontario also has its own iGaming platform.

It hasn't been for the lack of trying, however, since the launch of Caesars Palace Online Casino in July 2023. The company has enlisted top-tier gambling software providers over that time to make their product more viable. It has also been increasing its exposure with relationships and themed casino games with some of the top leagues in the North American market.

Caesars, in the last year-plus, has forged critical relationships with best-in-class gaming software provider EveryMatrix and created its SlotMatrix platform; it aligned with Digital Gaming Corporation to launch casino gaming in Pennsylvania and also teamed up with Hacksaw Gaming to get Ontario’s iGaming platform going.

It remains to be seen if Caesars’ latest move will help increase the exposure of its iGaming platform and ultimately help it expand beyond just Ontario, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. But the company seems to be pointed in the right direction when the platform does indeed become more welcome in other states across the country.
