PointsBet has had a month to remember! The premier global sportsbook has been on a partnership blitz with all four major North American sports leagues and even signed on with media giant NBC in the last four weeks. On Thursday it was announced that PointsBet and the NFL's Indianapolis Colts have entered into a one-year partnership that makes the betting provider the club’s first Official Betting Partner.

PointsBet has been aggressive to say the least in getting their name out there, signing partnership deals with some major franchises in the US legal betting market. PointsBet has deals already in place with the PGA TOUR, the Detroit Tigers in the MLB, the Denver Nuggets in the NBA, the NHL’s Colorado Avalanche, and also the University of Colorado in the NCAA. With the Colts deal, PointsBet also strengthens their foothold in the competitive Indiana sports betting scene, building on a similar sports betting partnership with the NBA's Indiana Pacers.

“PointsBet is thrilled to partner with the Colts, aligning with this great organization and its hugely passionate fanbase,” Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO, said in a news release. “PointsBet is the only sportsbook to have partnerships in place with both the Pacers and now the Colts, and we’re extremely proud of that. Indiana is a fantastic sports state and one that we’ve prioritized — we look forward to continuing to serve Indiana sports bettors this season.”

The Deal

The partnership deal between PointsBet and the Indianapolis Colts is pretty standard as far as deals of this nature go and aims to absolutely maximize the game-day experience of Colts fans in the state while providing unique and exciting perks along the way.

PointsBet immediately receives the right for usage of Indianapolis Colts marks and logos to use on their site and will benefit from unparalleled brand visibility and sponsorship opportunities on all Colts' TV and social media outlets. PointsBet becomes the flagship sponsor of the “Official Colts Podcast” and will be the title sponsor of the Colts in-house pregame show, "Colts Ramp Up," as well as the popular Colts Roundtable Live radio show.

PointsBet will have a presence everywhere the Colts happen to be with signage and advertising prevalent for TV and social media viewers.

PointsBet, in turn has committed to offering the best price on the market for all Indianapolis Colts games this season and will introduce to Indiana users its "Crowd Booster" campaign that offers favorable spreads for bettors. Both perks have proven extremely popular in the markets it already exists.

The Power of PointsBet

PointsBet has become more of an attractive option for states, providers, and bettors just within the last few months. Not only has PointsBet developed some serious legitimacy through relationships with teams in some of the major sports markets in the US, it also has the backing of NBC, thanks to a landmark $393 million deal signed just last month that brings together one of the most all-encompassing, recognizable media brands together with a sports betting provider that is clearly ascending in the exploding US legal sports betting scene.

Through that deal, PointsBet is in a position to take advantage of the millions of daily viewers of NBC Sports during broadcast of a wide variety of sports including North America’s “Big 4”.

PointsBet Going Forward

Expansion has clearly been a goal of the growing company – one that has been realized with the flurry of moves it has made this month alone. PointsBet has been live in the US market since only January but has secured market access in four New Jersey, Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa with deals pending in another 12 states by the end of 2020.

The Australian-based sportsbook has quickly made a name for itself in the US legal betting industry. Momentum has carried them into the elite category of sports betting operators in the US with little reason to think they will slow down anytime soon. With a foothold in all North American sports and with market access in some of the most bet-friendly states around, the PointsBet team seems to be striking the right tone at every turn.
