A bettor at BetMGM will be hoping the New York Yankees are playing deep into October after placing a large wager on them to win the World Series. 

The bettor wagered $25,000 at +800 odds to win $200,000. After opening at +1000 favorites, the Yankees now sit at +600.

After a slow start to the season, the Yankees have been red-hot. They're 8-2 in their past ten games and own the best record in baseball with a 27-9 record. 

Their pitching has been phenomenal, and surprisingly it's been Nestor Cortes leading the way with a 1.35 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, and 49 strikeouts. 

Ace Gerrit Cole has also been solid, boasting a 2.95 ERA and 1.12 WHIP after a sluggish start to the season. 

Offensively, Aaron Judge has been a juggernaut. Judge currently leads the MLB with 14 home runs, and both he and designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton are top-3 in RBIs. 

Judge has quickly become one of the favorites for both the AL MVP and home run leader.

Currently, on pace for over 100 wins, the Yankees will likely experience some regression. Still, if their pitching and offense continue to produce at a high level, this bettor may be much richer in late October.
