i cannot stop thinking about this. 40-A advantage nalbandian on Isner's serve, HUGGGGGGGGGE point and it was WRONG. back to duece.
ruined the whole match, isner had cramps and i swear he was about to go down. all points are not equal man, this was not some 30-15 type situation. he took the advantage away on a break point on Isner, where it is really tough to break him.

Seriously I laugh at Nalby a lot, but he just got fokked badly. Wozniacki and Murray just to name a couple have entire conversations with their box before challenging. And then even go ask the ump if they should.

This Isner tosser has a horseshoe up his ass. Again though, I know some were on him so at least they made cash
I'm so pissed, losing a bet and not to mention Nalbandian is my favorite player (even though I fade him a lot). Hope some crazed Argentine ends Kader Nouni. Love tennis, b/c there is usually no bs with replay, then this happens.

Yeah it's horrible. That's actually one of the worst ones I've seen in quite awhile. Bad calls are bad calls but at least normally people get the chance to challenge and then Hawkeye may be overruled. Dude wasn't even given the chance. And at a pivotal point in the match.

But yet, he let it get to him after as I'm sure every live bettor (except for myself who was too wrapped up in the match) took advantage of. Very few can recover from that. It messes with your head to the point where you make silly errors and are just f'd because you're thinking about 2 pts ago. Main thing I learned from Agassi's book Which has actually helped me a lot with my betting.

There was some college football game a few weeks ago and there was an argument about were his knees down or something. So of course as soon as I come in, I get hurled at me the "yeah but you have Hawkeye". And I was trying to explain that the final decisions still comes down to humans. Even with Hawkeye, you'll occasionally hear the ump talking to whatever ding dong is going to make the final call on their walkie talkies.

Problem is when it's an individual sport, with no coaching allowed (supposedly), you have to suck those bad calls up on your own. The fact that Isner celebrated after that crappy "win" puts him on my shitlist for good. You'll never see me put a cent on him in the future. I'm stubborn like that

yes, you can't recover, it puts you on tilt. i'm not sure he knew it was wide though, maybe someone in his box told him. but i think he could see the mark, and he probably knew that way. either way, it was unfortunate, chair umps should be very careful in fifth set tie-breakers, because it makes everyone's experience for those hours a complete waste of time. i am slowly recovering, my bet was only small, but it was a fun match and i just knew nalbandian was about to beat him. i got robbed really bad last summer on a weird baseball referee thing, and i will not let this bug me as much as that.

                That was BRUTAL!

I don't blame John though. Poor guy gave his all and full of courage and was limping in and still doing well.

But yeah poor David! Guy was robbed! I feel really bad for him. Was a classic match between two guys who just weren't willing to lose! Bad ending!

That was a HUGE point and definitely did change things. If the correct decision had been made, I think Nalbandian would've finished him and finally ended that match. Poor guy, I'm still thinking about it. Really bad way to go out!

I think that's what's pissed me off the most: It was a great match!!!

It's like, just let them play it out! These double standards are ridiculous. Umps give Nadal and Sharapova 25 bounces of the ball (and hair flicks and ass grabs) before they serve... yet umps give Mr No Name eight bounces before they warn him. Players take much much much longer than that to challenge all the time. On such a crucial point - IN A GRAND SLAM - be fair. At least then whomever won it, wouldn't have a tarnished W by their name. If Isner won that by battling through, then I'd be saying what a beauty he was. This is just crappy though and he knows it. The fact he celebrated like that after pisses me off too.

About a year ago, I read about Isner, from somebody who knew him/went to school or college with him... and he's supposed to be an absolute prick.

                    I'm beginning to believe that.

Interesting. Every interview I've ever seen from him or just generally here and there reading about him or seeing body language, etc. he seems fairly grounded and a decent guy to me.

Shari, I totally agree with your last post. Except the last it about John's celebration. I think at that point, having won a toughly-contested 5-set match playing 5 hours and limping in that last set with a cramp in a GRAND SLAM like you said and getting through, you just don't care anymore and don't feel for the other guy (at least not then, you will later lol), you're just happy you're finally getting through this and are pumped.

But yeah that f'n Umpire ruined a classic and robbed Nalbandian! If I were him I'd be PISSED! what a classy guy though! Could've made a far bigger deal out of it! Apparently he was cool even in the press conference and stayed classy. I'm definitely an even bigger fan of him now and as for Isner, for me, he hasn't gone down in my eyes. I see him as before and that's that he's a decent player and a decent human being it seems. Not much more though and take away his serves/aces and he's not much. Same can be said about Raonic but difference is Isner is 26 yet still quite raw! Raonic has all the time to improve and probably will.

I didnt see the match, what was going to happen if nalbandian was allowed to challenge? Isner would be doing a 2nd serve at 8-8 and break point?

Yeah it was 30-40. And that's the thing - it's not like Isner's 2nd serve is soft so there's no telling what would've happened. But now we won't know how it would've played out. Instead Nalby melted down and Isner kept his cool, as he should've. No different than a player taking advantage of an injury in their opponent. But this was so blatantly bad that it seems everyone was pissed no matter if they won money or not.

Can't stand Isner. Lopez going to gift him the match to next round, so he doesn't have to face his buddy Rafa.
