Okay, #1 - this contest is in no way, shape or form meant to detract from the bracket contests. Ours is set up entirely different and as laid out last week, this is a contest we are running weekly. So please enter both!
"WHACK OUR BALLS" RULES & FORMAT
For the Australian Open, the format is a bit different. So please note the changes on the # of picks.
For this tournament, you will be making FIVE picks per day unless otherwise noted for Rounds 1-3. Of these five picks, ONE per day must be signified as your "Best Bet" by putting "BB" next to it when you post your picks.
Four of your picks can come from available SPREADS or TOTALS via Pinnacle Sports. The 5th pick each day for the 1st THREE rounds will be you picking ONE seeded player [WTA or ATP, #1-#32] that you think will lose.
Scoring for Correctly Picking a Seeded Player Upset [Rounds 1-3]:
#1-#4 Loses: +10 units
#5-#8 Loses: + 7 units
#9-#12 Loses: +3.5 units
#13-#22 Loses: +1.75 units
#23-#32 Loses: +1 unit
An incorrect pick on a seeded player upset results in these penalties:
#1-#4 Loses: -5 units
#5-#8 Loses: -3 units
#9-#12 Loses: +2 units
#13-#22 Loses: -1.5 units
#23-#32 Loses: -1 unit
So you don't just randomly toss out a top four seed to lose every day and hope to hit, realize that it will be a high risk/high reward type pick the higher the seeded player you choose to lose.
From the 4th round on, we will go back to making four daily picks unless otherwise noted, again choosing from SPREADS and TOTALS only.
All picks will be "to win one unit" if betting on a line of -101 or higher and lines of +100 and higher will be "risking one unit.". The Best Bet will be double the bet size. The Best Bet CANNOT APPLY TO THE MONEY LINE DOG you pick each day.
Your picks can come from any ATP or WTA match taking place during the Australian Open.
Your picks may only be SPREADS [+/- games] & TOTALS [Over-Under]. NO MONEY LINES.
Your picks must be made based on lines found at PINNACLE SPORTS only.

All matches other than the pick on the seeded play to lose must be complete for wagers to stand. In the event of a retirement, you will be given the opportunity to make up that pick either on the same day or the next.
Matches involving SEEDED players and your picks for them to lose during Rounds 1-3 must complete TWO SETS for the pick to have action.
When making your selections, your picks must be posted before the scheduled start time for the match you are playing. Any pick posted after a match has begun will result in your picks being DQ'ed for the day. We would suggest that you post all your picks for the day at the same time to avoid running into any problems.

You will be responsible for posting the price listed @ Pinnacle Sports when you make your selections. That does mean there will be some variation in the price even among people who may have the same pick. That is part of the fun. Anyone found to be using an obvious BAD price that was not posted at Pinnacle Sports will be DQ'ed from the competition for the week and any points given toward the prize pot will be kept.
Upon completion of the final day of picks, anyone who has beaten Tevari/EP36 with a better winning percentage/record & the number of units gained for the week will be declared a winner of a percentage of the prize pot. YOU MUST BEAT THEIR SCORE. If you finish with an identical record/win % and the same amount of units, you do not win that week.
Anyone who does not pick the required amount of selections for the week will not be eligible to win points no matter what your record was. In other words, if you were required to make 20 picks and you made 18, you are not eligible for prizes.
The prize pool for each week will be announced after all the contestants have been registered for the week and their entry fees paid.
