I live in Canada so its different for me. All WC games are CBC and Wimbledon is on TSN.
yes, but the brazil-netherlands game will play simultaneously with nadal and murray. you thought you could watch nadal and murray before the WC games but that is incorrect. just know that tomorrow morning so you dont wake up at 4 am saying what the fukk?

It's not over yet Hoopy but I must admit I'd probably have a minor stroke if Murray can take the next 3 off Nadal. I just need him to win one.

I do think it's over but if Murray can hold on to this break he can get at least one damn set. Either way it's cool. I ended up laying the chalk on Nadal at the last minute because I missed the Netherlands game but I only posted 3-1, 3-2 in my thread so I want one of those to hit for the guys who tail. I'll never post chalky plays in there - as you know, that blows up in your face all too often and I'd feel like absolute ass if I cost anyone money.

Murray will win the 3rd set and maybe even the 4th. This is where Murray's fitness starts to help him a bit.

Once again hoopster screws someone by touting them as the winner. Good thing I hedged my Murray future with one on Nadal too. I told you I was going to eat your heart. Chomp chomp.

Murray is one dimensional and he doesn't play with passion. Looks like he is not enjoying it when he plays because the bar was set too high for him.

He's a choker who relies heavily on his first serve.
Not good combo for winning slams

lol Murray doesn't rely on his serve at all. He relies completely on his defense and expects his opponent to make errors.

exactly,
relying on nadal and other top players to make errors won't win a slam(any time soon), you must take it to them.
glad we agree.

I really think Murray's going to be the next Tim Henman. Too many expectations on the guy when he doesn't have the complete game to back it up. I really hope for his sake he can win a Slam at some point but after today's performance, I really don't see it happening within the next couple of years barring a major injury from Nadal. Even then, there are others who would've been able to beat him today. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for this dude, the more that I think about it.

Agreed, he just doesn't have it.
His first served dipped below 50% towards the end of the match and Nadal just handled him on the second.
Shocking considering he came out with such poise

Only difference is Murray has already made two Grand Slam finals. Henman never made one. Still a little early to bury Murray's future, but so far he obviously is not up to snuff against the more experienced Slam guys like Federer and Nadal - but I mean outside of Del Potro's big win last year, who is?

As I said at the start of the thread, I think he can win one some day. It's just not going to happen any time soon. He's young - plenty of time for him to get it done but the way people go on about him, admittedly mainly the press, you'd think he had a great chance of winning it this weekend. Anything can happen of course, but when you have people using their cash to bet on him in a Semi mainly under the assumption that his opponent is injured and will tire out so he has a shot, that's saying something. He's just not mentally there yet - not in a fragile flower kind of way but in respect to evaluating how effective his game plan is during the match, figuring out what's working and what's not and taking it from there. He could've had Nadal on the ropes at various points if he had stopped slicing the ball and volleyed it more. But he didn't adjust the way he was playing. Hopefully he'll develop that with time and if the stars and the moon align for him, maybe he can finally win his Slam.

I think if Murray wins a Slam, it'll be because someone didn't make a final that was expected to. Like Federer getting his French title because Nadal lost.

I agree. That's what I was basically referring to with my comment about the stars and moon aligning. He won't win one with the usual suspects all competing. If someone's injured and not playing or has a shock loss, than maybe he'll get his chance. It's really sad when you think about it. Maybe he'll prove me wrong.

Too much expectation here of Murray's level on grass - he's simply not as comfortable on the stuff as he is on hard (particularly Decoturf).
Horrible luck losing the second set tiebreak to a netcord as well......
