Although I was just looking over my handicap bets for the last 2 weeks and when I took the favourites I didn't do very well so I'm not holding out too much hope.Comment -

#5442I'm really contemplating buying back my Chela and Malisse handicap bets. Although the women favourites seem to be struggling/tanking more than the men so far, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the dogs barked loudly today.Comment -

#5444The one I'm really cheering for right now is Bester although I have no money on him. I chickened out of the handicap because it was too small but not only is he Canadian but this quote made me somewhat sad. You at least know he'll fight to the death for every point which is obviously more than you can say for half the players this week.
"I went to Europe recently with $2,000 Canadian in my pocket -- that's all I had, I didn't have a cent more," he said. "Being on my own on the road and now without the Nike contract and everything, it just builds character. Almost all of the other tennis players that I'm competing against are in the same shoes and situation that I am where they have to fight to get to the next week. It's not as brutal as if you're fighting to eat your next meal or anything but the truth is because the travel is so expensive with flights and everything and because you're paying for everything on your own, you need the money to do that. To get the money you need to win." And that need to win just to make it to the next event has pumped up his game, he said. "I just feel like I've become a lot tougher knowing that not everything is coming easy for me like it did maybe when I was younger and I had full access to as much clothing and equipment as I needed at any moment just one phone call away. . . . It isn't that way anymore. I feel like it's definitely made me a lot tougher on the court. I've always had a great fighting spirit to fight for every match but there's just that extra sense of urgency to fight extra hard for every point."Comment -

#5447I've bought back Chela -2. It's taking enough of a risk just by betting on a favourite this week as it is. There's no point making my life more difficult.Comment -

#5452At the moment, no. The more I've been looking at the match the more uncomfortable I feel with the handicap even though it's only 2. Chela's only played 2 hard court matches so far this season. One where he beat Falla who looked like he was drunk/injured/tanking/take your pick and the other where he lost to Federer which there's obviously no shame in although this was in the midst of Fed's struggles.
Plus this Donald Young dude picks my ass and I could see him screwing my handicap bet.Comment -
