I interviewed Jarmilla three years ago after she won a qualy match for the Gold Coast hardcourt tournament they used to have in early January (I used to be a sports reporter for ch 9 on the gold coast) .. I was impressed by how "heavy" she hit the ball back then but her weight and mobility were obvious weaknesses -----> Cannot believe the physical transformation she's undergone since then.

To tell you the truth, she's blown me away the past couple of months. At first I thought she was just a bit 'streaky' and would normalize at some point but she has some great weapons that hopefully won't be hampered any time soon by an injury of any sort.

The odds here were almost a gift - win or lose. I would've taken her at -120 or maybe a little bit lower after seeing both of them play but to give me + money on her? Come on.

Well, we're in the 3rd set after our girl lost the first in a tiebreak and smoked the other chick in the 2nd. The chubby (not our girl) has now resorted to not chasing balls again and can't get the ball over the net so I still like our chances. Our chick is a warrior. She can do this.

Our girl lost her serve. So chubby had an advantage. But our girl took that right back from chubby in the next game. Despite our friend Bull Shark doubting our girl's game. Now they're back to even again. So far, so good.
