Man was I wrong about Djokovic. I thought the ATP Cup would be draining on him and he'd be primed for an upset. As great as Thiem is playing, I'd be surprised if Djoker lost this. Kenin was not a shocker though. She's always been a backboard but she has been hitting some serious winners lately. Would not be surprised if she finishes the year top 5.

I honestly thought Kenin had no chance against Barty in Australia. In the Finals, I thought Muguruza's experience at that level would give her the edge over Kenin.
Kenin can rise to the top 5 by year's end. I can see Pliskova and Osaka dropping out of the top 5 to make room for 2 other more serious players to get in there.

ATP:
The word "upset" exists for a reason but it'll have no utility when the Emperor of Serbia takes on Thiem. This is not a WTA Final.

Djokovic to win in 4 sets (3-1) +240.

Thiem is a tough cookie but Djokovic has the weapons to neutralize him. I'm awarding one set to Thiem's grit - but no more.
Djokovic started his AO run with a 3-1 win over Lennard-Struff. He looks poised to end it in poetic fashon - the same way he started, with a 3-1 win over Thiem.
The champagne bottles are already arriving at various venues in Serbia. Hurray to Djokovic's 17th Grand slam!!!

Think Muguruza looked a bit tired in the end for mine. Kenin spent three sets moving her from side to side to take advantage of her height and I think it wore her out to the point where it led to all that loose serving in the third set, and double faults.

If Muguruza converted that 0-40 on Kenin's serve maybe it would be a different story but Kenin played some great points when it mattered and thoroughly deserved to win that final, even though in the first set she didn't look too far off, just a bit of nerves I think.
