Heads up college football bettors

If you don't reside on the East Coast, you may not be aware of a can't-miss nor'easter heading our way, with the brunt of it expected tomorrow afternoon.

"PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Strong winds, coastal flooding and heavy rain are expected to hit much of the East Coast over the weekend, with a powerful nor'easter bringing its strongest winds to Cape Cod and the nearby islands.

Torrential downpours and 40-60 mph winds blowing in from the northeast will wreak havoc on most games played in these parts.
Don't overlook the weather when handicapping those East Coast games.
The New Jersey coast and the Long Island Sound (where I live) are going to get croaked with rain and wind.

Given that storm track (Carolinas → mid-Atlantic → Long Island/southern New England), here are this weekend's (Sat, Sept 26) NCAAF games that fall in the path:

Carolinas (highest flood/wind risk)

• NC Central at East Carolina (Greenville, NC) — very coastal, directly in the worst of it
• William & Mary at Duke (Durham, NC)
• Appalachian State at NC State (Raleigh, NC)

Mid-Atlantic

• Delaware at Virginia (Charlottesville, VA) — more inland, so less exposed
• Army at Temple (Philadelphia) — Friday night game
• Howard at Rutgers (Piscataway, NJ)
• Bucknell at Pitt (western PA — likely spared the worst since it's not coastal)

Long Island / Southern New England (where the poster says the brunt will hit)

• Virginia Tech at Boston College (Boston)

If you're betting any of these, the practical angle Steve's flagging is: heavy rain + 40-60 mph gusts historically suppress passing games and totals, favor run-heavy/defensive scripts, and can mess with kicking games.

The Giants-Titans game at MetLife in East Rutherford should be interesting too.
Right now, there's a break in the weather system.
This nor'easter has one bullet left, but that's not supposed to begin until the fourth quarter (3 p.m.- 4 p.m.)
The Giants game kicks off at 1 p.m.; that field has got to be a soggy mess right now.

The Weather Game: Titans-Giants
Weather won’t be an issue inside the Superdome, but Titans-Giants appears to be the game bearing the brunt of the East Coast storms.
The current forecast calls for rain and strong winds at MetLife Stadium.

The betting market has noticed.
Circa opened the total at 43. It’s now down to 37. The Titans and Giants offenses may have contributed to that number as well, right?
