#72at pinnacle, nadal to win 3-1 is +242, so if you hedge with that with an equal wager as what you had +300,Originally posted by TennisBabeI sit at +300 right now with a great hedge chance should I decide to
you will either win $42 or $100 on a 100 dollar wager for each wager. if soderling wins or if nadal wins in 5 sets,
youre screwed. in other words, your hedging opportunities are not good. you made a bad bet, and i told you this way before the french startedComment -

It's always nice to hit those, but it seems sweeter somehow when you took so much flack for making the bet in the first place.

#88pride doesnt help you when the other guy is so dialed in. did you see the french final 2008 when roger lost the last set 6-0 after losing the first 2 sets? he totally quit. it was obvious to anyone who watched it. i like roger but you need to chill out and wake up, he his on the back end of a great career and it is going to head down the mountain now and people will pick him off who have no business doing so, kind of like soderling did last weekendOriginally posted by Goat MilkFed would have taken 1 set out of pure pride.Comment -

#92I still stand by what I said a month and a half ago but I'm hoping he does it sooner rather than later for his own sake.Originally posted by shari91I reckon Fed will retire before he gets to the point where he slips too far. Now that he has the record and his babies, there's no need for him to stay out there and risk embarassing himself when he starts to get beaten by players he would've wiped the court with a year or 2 ago. Wish a book had odds on the year of Fed's retirement so I could have a little bit of action on it.

#95Oh please, Federer is not done. No he's not the "old" Federer. He's had to adjust, like all the great ones do as they get older. He's a different player than five years ago, but still great, and I'd wager he wins at least one more major, and likely several more.Originally posted by TennisBabeI won't argue with the people who think Federer is the "old" Federer. #96he has 16, so you think he'll finish with 19-20? you did say before the french that "only nadal will challenge him for the next 10-12 slams" or something like that. maybe you just say 10 slams, but then soderling just beat him at the french. if you think no one other than nadal will challenge him on a hardcourt after del potro beat him in last years us open then youre not following the game as much as i am dudeOriginally posted by Goat MilkHow about a friendly wager on this?

#97Hoopster guys like Del Potro peak early and then its downhill for a few years. These guys will win 1 major throughout their career and be satisfied with it.
No one other than Nadal will challenge him for the next 10 slams, I said it and I'll say it again. Just like I said no one will challenge Nadal for the next 10 slams except Fed, and no one will. Even Murray and Djok will only win 2 majors each before they retire.
Hoopster do you want to make a friendly Wager with me that Fed wins 1 of the next 3 slams and I will give you 2:1 odds?

#101well that's way longer than I have been following, I have been following for about 15 years I'm 32 years old so you were close. Well I guess Tennis is to what Basketball is to me. Federer will not dissappoint, you will see. The guy cannot be questioned so long as his fitness is the way it is. When Samprus started to slide, you could see it in his fitness, Federer's fitness cannot be questioned at this point, maybe in 2 years it can, but as of now it cannot.Originally posted by hoopster42

#102its not just about fitness, its that little extra something in the hand eye coordination and muscle memory in the body that starts to go fast when you reach a certain age. i really enjoy roger and think he's the entire package when it comes to a tennis player, but the dude is going to be 29 in two months and in tennis years that is at the top of the hill and on the decline. you just said a few weeks ago that only nadal will challenge him at the next 10 slams but then soderling runs him off the court like he was a qualifier. lets just see what happens at wimbledon. he is still the best grasscourt player in the world but maybe nadal will return to the 2008 nadal on grass and maybe murray makes a run. maybe roddick makes another run like last year when he played roger to the wire. roger is not as dominant on grass as he used to be. the last 3 finals at wimbledon he played in all went 5 sets, not like the past when he flushed people out in 3 or 4Originally posted by Goat Milkwell that's way longer than I have been following, I have been following for about 15 years I'm 32 years old so you were close.
