i was thinking the same in my thread bt isner beating djokovic a few yrs back on this surface could suggest otherwise. the slowness does allow him to run around and load up his huge forehand bt his current form is serve and nothing else

I think Isner played pretty decent against Murray in Davis Cup. The best he's looked and moved all year in fact.

Isner has had success at IW, so tough to bet against him in this spot.

Isner has actual played well here in the past, so I don't think we can blanket say that power guys can't succeed here - but certainly they don't have the heavy advantage that they have on most hard courts.

Even though it was just Sijsling, Rafa looked pretty solid tonight. Good movement and his serve actually had some pretty good bite to it at times. Of course, Igor blows as a returner, so maybe that was it. Anywho, at least a good start with the future.

He's French. And then there's Gulbis, that match for me = GTF AWAY even though I still don't think I could possibly back Gulbis yet. One match does not turn all things around. Interesting to note though that he did part ways with his coach a couple weeks ago, so maybe that has freed his mind or something.
