Matt, still trying to figure out the method to your madness. Bellucci and this kid were fairly even on paper. The kid had beaten him before and Belluci was having a bad few months, until this tournament. One thing I noticed though was how the kid lost the final of almost every tournament he played this year, even though he was playing well in those tournaments. Was that a deciding factor in how you capped this match (i.e., the kid's awful record in finals)?

Bellucci was easily the best clay court play in this tournament. Once he won that game to get off the losing streak, he gained confidence. Bellucci will be a force the rest of the year on clay. No I know swartzman is decent on clay but Bellucci is a class above when mentally and physically healthy

damn...third-set TB...i never watch these...rather do/watch something else...and come back and see how the several-minutes-long coin-toss turned out

to watch every waft of air affecting the coin-toss (ie. every shot of every point) just magnifies the blood-pressure implications of it (and tempts "Murphy's Law" unnecessarily)...

i can tell from the above posts the result...apparently a very poorly-disguised "throwing" of the match...like he just remembered at serving with a 5-1 lead something REALLY important he had promised to do for some real bad dudes...

we forget these guys very likely have personal financial problems and goals just like the rest of us...and in an indidual sport like tennis and fighting, what economists call "moral hazard" is an always-present possibility (read the chapter on Sumo wrestling in the famous book, Freakonomics to see statistically just how common it really is)

it indeed was a coin-TOSS

he tossed the match (beginning far earlier, in fact, that at the TB: he served for the match at both 5-1 and 5-3) in exchange for the coin
