I suspect they are attempting fix for log4j vulnerability that has been giving folks in software development sleepless nights recently.
For a large enterprise like Bovada, they likely have containerized environment and disaster recovery in place.
Additionally, for those that use Bovada regularly, you must have noticed there was a notification for pending update on landing page. Unfortunately, they haven't come back up since them.
For those curious, some vendors e.g: VMware have shared a workaround fix for this critical vulnerability, however patches still in the works for which many folks will be working over Holidays.
My largest balance is there. Using BookMaker and Betonline balances in the meantime;

A buddy of mine lost $700 on slots because of a system error. They promised him a full compensation. And actually admitted a system error 2 weeks ago. THRee days LATER HE got a message say we found no errors in our systems and no refund. After they admitted and promised.

It very well may have been an upgrade. Remember, the critical security issue Log4j is out there. Companies around the world are applying emergency patches this week when they normally wouldn't make any system changes just before he holidays. Sometimes the world doesn't give you any choice. Funds absolutely safe, even if they have to go back 48 hours and work the honor system from there.
There is no way this was caused by an upgrade
It could be a hack that scrambled their database or worse
It could be them leaving the USA market
it could be government enforcement seizing servers in one of their foreign offices

Totally agree. I work in online payments and similar to what adila1401 said above, organizations are scrambling due to the log4j issue. They have been my primary book now for 6-7 years after I left b365 for their horrible cx service. using bookmaker in the meantime but I hope they get this resolved by Saturday at the latest.
Their compensation for this mess better be good or I might need to move to bookmaker as my primary and make a statement.
